Great 240v compact heater!
R. Pierson•December 29, 2017
Works great in our 200 sq ft game room. This is a separate building from the house and doesnt have much insulation, yet it's heated easily with this unit. Installation was super easy. Just purchased a plug and wire from a local hardware store so it can be plugged in instead of hardwiring it. Also this is a very quiet heater. I was not very optimistic about the other reviews regarding the quietness, but am pleasantly surprised. Only drawback I can see with it is the hole where the wire goes in. There should be some type of grommet there to keep the wire from being cut on the sharp metal. That is the one and only complaint I have about the whole thing so I would definately recommend this to friends and family alike.
First set of these lasted 13 winters, I've ordered a second identical set.

My second set of these ( I have 2 each in my condo in the mountains ). The first set lasted 13 years after much use each winter and then no use over the spring/summer/fall year after year! The original installation in the "easier" category; a bracket on the wall, hooking up the thicker electrical wires, and a wall mount on the bottom of the unit. They mount onto the wall ( as opposed to in the wall ). Wherever your wire exits the wall, or wherever you can run the 220 volt ( or 240 volt ) wire is where you can mount the heater. Note: these work better if you set them and let them run on their own during the day/night. They do not instantly heat a room. You need to let them purr away and then they will turn on and off at regular intervals per the setting on the dial to keep a room at a somewhat constant temperature. For example, I have 2 each in a 550 sq ft condo WITH tall cathedral ceilings ( each room has a ceiling fan ). In the dead of winter running as described above we can hang out in flannel pj's and socks. Never had an issue with them. Quality is good. They look fine and will blend into a room with any type furniture.
We absolutely love this heater so far

We absolutely love this heater so far. We are using it in a 10 x 12 sunporch we are converting into art studio/craft room. For those wondering about clearance - it needs to be 6-8 inches off the ground and then 4" or more away from side walls/doors/etc. However, instructions also say 3 feet away from anything combustible {ie: furniture, books, papers, clothes, drapes, etc.}. See attached picture from manual.
Hardwiring the unit in is definitely for someone experienced or a pro - took my Dad (a lifetime of construction experience) about 3-4 hours from start to finish, but he also had to update our main electric box and then update an old fuse box to circuit breaker box so that the heater could be on it's own breaker box. He also installed a couple extra outlets for me on a separate circuit in the room. Additional supplies to install this {not including labor} ended up being around $130 for all the breakers & wiring & new outlets - but this was due to us needing mostly to update our existing old wiring from the 70's that no longer meets safety codes. If you have an open circuit or don't plan on needing to draw much energy and can get by on 50' of wire, you could probably do this for $30-$50 easily.
So far it is keeping the room nice and cozy - we have it on the lowest setting right now since we're still in renovation phase - weather outside is slightly above freezing here {35-40 degrees at night}, but I expect it do just fine in the winter. The fan blows warm air on you almost instantly if you turn it on or turn up the heat, and it's very quiet when it runs - I think maybe even quieter than the forced air heat from the furnace we have in the rest of the house.
The design is very nice and sleek. Everyone who sees this little heater has wanted to know more about it! One other note: Some reviewers shared pictures of yellow wires sticking up from the top, but I'm not really sure how/why they had that problem...my only guess is must be in the way they ran the wires through the wall and where holes were drilled for the wiring, like maybe the hole was too high? With ours, there is a bit of a gap between the heater and the wall from the way the wall mount is designed, but the wires aren't visible unless you stand at a certain angle to see behind the unit and are trying to see them.
Attached some pictures here of the inside of the heater for hooking it up and from the instruction manual. All in all, great product!

I searched long and hard for a product like this and appreciated the reviews while trying to make a decision, so I thought I would weigh in now that I've had this for a few months.I live in the northeast and was trying to heat a "mudroom" that is 8'X16' with a window and three doors. The room gets very cold in the winter and I was hoping to replace a propane heater
You do have to run your own wiring, but installation was very quick and easy. Upon start up however, there was an orange glow and a lot of direct heat. I noticed another reviewer describing this, but it didn't seem like the fan was blowing like it should so I removed it from the wall to have a better look inside. Once I determined that the fan was moving freely I reinstalled it and this time no orange glow, and everything seemed to work fine. I have no idea what the issue was, and now it has been running for about four months without issue.
I leave the knob just under the first setting and it keeps the room around 70. The unit runs very quiet, much more quiet than a hairdryer. The unit is light and has a thin profile, and it does not get overly hot to the touch so I never worry about someone leaving wet gloves near it.
I am very happy with this product, I did take away one star for the orange glow issue which could have been dangerous and the fact that my electric bill has increased a little more than I anticipated but otherwise this was a great option from the propane heater.

Good heat. Quiet

Quiet. Good fan and heat output. Only gripe is The power connections are the top of the unit, so power wire is visible when mounted. I tried to camouflage mine with a grey electrical fitting (picture).
