This fan blows...and thats good!

This fan looks great in my pole building. Moves a decent amount of air on high speed setting, which leads me to my only 2 complaints about this product:
1 - The fan wobbles slightly. I checked level, reinforced the joist it is mounted to, and tried applying light weights to see if I could balance it, no luck. It is in a garage and it wobbles just a little so not a big deal for me, but if you are putting this in your home, it may bother you (assuming yours wobbles too).
2 - The switch that comes with it seems like a nice bonus, but it really is kinda cheesy and bulky. to switch between speeds you have to go slowly or you will skip over the one you want. And, just the other day, the slider actually broke for me. I can still use it but have to hold it a certain way when sliding it.
if buying, just get yourself a different fan control switch and save yourself the time of replacing it later.

Giving 2 stars due to Amazon.com poor question and answers about product

I was looking to purchase a ceiling fan for my garage to circulate the heat from my heaters away from hanging at the ceiling. I read through questions and it had seemed quite a few people had said it was a reversible fan and that the controlsame had 5 forward speed and 5 reverse speeds. Well none of this is true, this fan only has 5 forward speeds but yet there is a dual set of 5 numbers on the control panel , not sure why. I tried contacting westinghouse but they have a poor and slow customer service department. So I returned the fan at a cost to me of return shipping. The fan has very high speed rotation but had a wobble at high speeds. Very very disappointed with the question and answer section for this product, a lot of confusing responses.
Sagging Blades, Loud, and Ugly Control

These are very loud fans that come with a hideous control box. My husband is an electrician and said there is no way to control them without it. Otherwise they just run on the highest speed which sounds like a helicopter above you. Had them outside for a short time and the blades even sagged from the heat I assume. We are quite unimpressed with the quality. Because it took us so long to hang them, we've missed the return window also. Sad, sad day...
DO NOT USE A REMOTE TO CONTROL THIS FAN.

WARNING!! This fan lasted only 6 months of light service and then locked up. I called the Westinghouse customer service for the warranty. They stated that since I used a universal remote control, it voided my warranty. You can only use the speed control provided with the fan. If you use anything else, it voids the warranty. Note that Amazon lists a different speed control to possibly buy with the fan.
The description of this fan does not state that you cannot use a remote.

Exactly what I was looking for

I bought a couple of these and they look really good- modern and just a little bit industrial, maybe even a little beachy. We put them in rooms with recessed lights I read other reviews so I knew about the large wall control that comes with it, but seriously, it is so unbelievably large (the size of an 80s cell phone/brick). I bought a couple of fan controls at lowes (5 speed) and they worked out great. Note: I hired an electrician to install these- I don't know how much extra work the different controls were, but each fan took him about an hour to install.
