Be sure you put a splitter up on your antenna mast, but you can also have a splitter inside your home.
JohnAroundTheCornerReviews•June 13, 2017
Don't make the mistake I made. Put an amplifier up as close to your rooftop antenna as you can and you will improve your marginal stations and perhaps pull in a few more stations that you didn't get before. You can also get a four-way splitter for inside your house.
What I plan to do is replace my existing cable from the rooftop antenna with this, running a 3-foot cable from antenna to this splitter, then three longer cables down to my bedroom window, one for power, two for signal.
The one TV signal cable will go directly to my DVR, the one that records most of my primary stuff.
The second TV signal cable will go to a second splitter with four outputs. That splitter will let me send a slightly weaker signal directly to the main TV set as an alternate input, to a second TV set, and even to a secondary recording device.

Changed from 3 to 4 stars. Initially no low band VHF- Started working!, No power cable, very good for high frequency channels.

The amplifier arrived in good condition and was easy to install. No power coax cable was included. Fortunately I had a coax cable on hand. I am using a Winegard MS-2002 HDTV Antenna in the attic. After installation my higher frequency channels all improved, but I lost all low band VHF channels, (2-6). They subsequently started working with no changes to the set-up. (In 2009 when the FTC required broadcasts to be HDTV they still allowed local stations to broadcast channels 2-6 as low power low frequency VHF.)
Needed For Long Runs Especially If You Have A VHF Lo Channel
M Ricci•November 20, 2016
I cut the cord back in August leaving DIRECTV but using the arm of the satellite dish to mount the Winegard antenna recommended by the really helpful members of the OTA subReddit. They also recommended this amplified splliter for long runs so I bought it because my antenna is some 30 feet up on the roof. However, I figured I'd try connecting without it first to see if I actually needed it. Turned out I didn't on the nice sunny day I connected and left it in its box. Some time after we had a rainy day and my channel 6 which is VHF Lo went out. I guess I needed that extra oomph after all, so out of the box came this guy and channel 6 was back in business,
I finally fixed a TV problem myself!

I finally fixed something on my own!!! My Verizon Fios playback (for on-demand viewing only) was SO GLITCHY! The sound and picture would glitch so often it was maddening. We paid so much money to make a movie room at home, install surround sound, get the remote set up, etc etc, in addition to paying monthly for Verizon service. I felt like surely my TV provider was trying to get me to buy better service from them! We could hardly get through an on-demand show or a movie. I followed the guidance from other reviewers as well as from the instructions that came with the box (order the Coaxial cable you might need as well!) and this box has helped SO MUCH. We are down to maybe one glitch or two in a show. I don't know what makes it happen, and plan to re-tighten the connections to see if I can improve even more, but I can't believe how much this helped. Great product.
great for over the air antenna source amping
hiowatha•December 8, 2015
I initially bought this because we were having signal problems on one of the 3 TV's we have in our home. It ended up being the actual cable companies signal though. When we finally cut the cord completely and went with the over the air antenna, we hooked this up at the source. So far after a couple of months use, we have rarely if at all seen any glitches with signal quality in the 3 TV's that this sources. So far so good. I will eventually return to this review to comment on longevity.

This is still holding strong. I use this amp to boost an antenna source for 3 TV's and it has worked wonderfully with the HDTV antenna that we placed on our roof. We have no regrets in cutting the cord and using this amplifier to help us do that.
