Works well and is fool proof. I can't comment on the longevity of it since I have only used it once. It did appear to have rust like stains on the blades, as others have commented... but that didn't really bother me as I read in another comment that it isn't actually rust? It's cheap enough that if there are issues down the line, it would have served it's purpose just fine. I am hoping that it lasts, though.

This seems to do the job! I haven't had much experience with knife sharpeners but this one actually slivers/whittles away some of the knife. It really, truly makes them like new. I bought a pick-bag of knives from my thrift store, about as sharp as a popsicle stick, and now they're so slick, I can filet pork cutlets paper-thin! Boggles the mind. I'm never going to drop loads of money on new fancy knives.

I use this at home. I was looking for a lower cost alternative to bringing my knives in yearly to the hardware store. I was also looking for an alternative to the sharpener that came with my knife set. The sharpener works well with the chef's knife but not with the slicing knife. This item is fanatastic. It is little. It does the job. It only takes 3 swipes thru each slot to have a super sharp knife.

One of the best things I've bought off amazon in a LONG time. Works wonders, I have a large set of knives I've had for about 6 years that have never been sharpened and after just a few swipes on each knife they feel brand new like they've never been used. We needed a decent knife sharpener as our current set was getting a bit dull but still worth using. We are very pleased with this sharpener! It is lightweight and small making it easy to store when not in use. The knives each needed approximately 5 swipes of the coarse sharpener and just a few of the fine sharpener. What a difference it makes! Cutting through a tomato has never been easier. This is a great price for a fantastic knife sharpener!
