Good choice for two bikes. Works well for combination of step-through and 'normal bar' bikes. Quality control needs a little attention. I had to drill out the pin holes slightly as they weren't quite aligned. Once that was accomplished the unit works just fine. Not as quick to load and unload as a standard bar carrier but I think it's more secure. I didn't have stand-offs for my old carrier and the bikes rubbed together (messed up the paint on my expensive new bike - my fault for not for-seeing what would happen). Not an issue with the Swagman. Both bikes are held in tight. They never touch. If you have a rear hitch and only 2 bikes this carrier is a good option to consider.
Great Hitch! So easy to load any kind of bike onto!

I love this bike hitch! I will say off the bat, that it is easier to put on and off of my vehicle than it was to put it together.
Though I had a couple of troubles with getting the Swagman XTC put together, once it was assembled it was a breeze. The piece itself isn't too heavy and if you have 2 people (one to line up the hitch hole, and another to push/pull the hitch) it will take you no more than 10 minutes to be on the road.
The platforms are nice and keep me with piece of mind as I drive. The hooks that go on the middle pole for the frames of the bikes can take some configuring. Different configurations for different bikes might be needed but you can always find a configuration that works.

Rock Solid Bike Rack.

This is a rock solid bike rack that's easy to install and easy to load. It takes a minute or two to mount the unit on the car and securely mount 2 bikes. I couldn't have come up with a better one and the price was great. I bought the lockable hitch pin too although the hitch pin that comes with it has a hole you could use a small padlock in. For those who have commented that the rack and their bikes move around a lot, make sure the threaded hitch pin is done up tight and if you have a 2" hitch receiver make sure the 2 adapter brackets are installed and done up tightly.
For Weight Watchers. 35 Pound rating.

A very nice rack. At the time, they only had the combo 1-1/4"/2:" mount, and I was dubious about fitting it to my 2: receiver, but the adapter is metal, and feels secure to me. Later, I downsized to a car with only a 1-1/4" capacity hitch (200 lb tongue weight) , so it turned out OK.
I didn't realize it has a 35 lb weight limit. My lightest bikes are 34-36 pounds. And my electric bikes are 45-47 porky pounds, so I cannot safely mount them. This kind of bums me out, but my fault for not reading the specs. I'll have to buy a stronger rack now.
Do not lose the hitch bolt. It's called an anti-rattle bolt by the way. Neither an american 1/2" or a metric 12 mm in any thread pitch fits. I removed the tapped center piece and took it to a hardware store. No luck. I was going to re-tap the part for metric 12mm, but now I believe it's an archaic British whitworth thread. I want to use the rack tomorrow, so I cobbled up a 1/2" nut on a metal bracket and slid that down the tube. I'll order a new bolt from swagman unless my Old British Car enthusiast friend has one.

I'm assembly competent, I used the stabilizing pin, but there is no way to remedy the SWAY of this rack, totally unstable.

I purchased this item for the straightforward design and purported quality. The construction itself is not at question. I believe that it would be quite durable based on the weight and stability of the materials and manufacturing methods. At issue however is that even with the provided adapter, the post does not fit securely in the trailer hitch coupler. I used the Swagman Anit-Wobble Threaded Hitch Pin and it did not remedy the situation. There is a good 4" of sway from side to side when the rack is properly mounted to the hitch. I am very disappointed because I purchased this as a Christmas gift in December and the weather when it would be needed by our family has just arrived, biking at parks with family and friends. Well, When I opened the box it was apparent that it had been previously opened. The tape to the inside box (box for the rack, not the outside shipping box) had been cut. Inside the box, the bag for some of the screws and bolts for assemply had been cut open. And, thought it went together like a charm with no fit or finish issues, IT WOBBLES! The only way to remedy this would be to shim the rack into the hitch. Are you kidding? That's ridiculous!. BUT, this item is now too far past the purchase date and I cannot return it. This is not the consumer experience I was expecting from Amazon and a big name company. Very disappointed in these details that make an otherwise quality product, unusable.
