Easy assembly even with not the best in instructions

Solid well made unfinished piece of furniture. Easy assembly even with not the best in instructions. Mostly well finished, ready to be painted right out of the box, but if you plan to stain or leave natural some prep work (finishing sanding) needs to be done. Its all solid wood but all the larger pieces, such as the seats, are made butcher block style (1.5" strips glued together). I have bought 6 different pieces from 2 different vendors and they have all been promptly shipped and extremely well boxed to prevent damage. I have had no problems with missing hardware or parts. Just remember these are massed produced products and minor finish and/or fit problems sometimes exist.

These are very good chairs. I would give them five stars except the assembly instructions are terrible. If you're handy, you can figure it out ok. If not, these chairs will cause you too much of a problem. The bottom braces are not marked, contrary to the instructions, so you have to figure it out. One tip, do not tighten the bolts until you are ready to install the seat. Before screwing in the seat, put the chair on a flat surface, place a weight on the seat, then tighten the bolts. Otherwise, it will not assemble square.
The chair needs to be sanded before applying stain.
I ordered a pair one week apart. Amazon charged the second order a great deal more. So some of this negative review is of Amazon's predatory pricing on the second order.
