Used as a replacement
Rob Russell•December 13, 2016
This was used as a replacement for the existing one that went bad. The replacement was easy.
Great stuff!

Easy to mount, high quality of the mechanical parts, sounds great! It is critical to have flat surfaces on both sides of the "pickup", worth taking an extra notice when mounding.
Truly remarkable under saddle transducer
Tyler•July 5, 2014
First I'll start of by saying i am a beginner guitarist, having only been playing just over 2 years, however this under saddle transducer is the best compliment to my 1999 Guild D-4. The sound is incredibly warm, but still able to squeak out the high tones. it sounds like the sound is resonating from the body of the guitar right out of the amplifier. This is the best available option for musicians that are looking to pick up the natural tones of your instrument. When recording through the transducer, the notes are clear and strong, with no muddled sounds, and the sustain of each note is long and vibrant. I play out of an older Pevey BASS amp, and if its up past half way on the volume, the guitar begins to resonate and feedback but the sound is clear and loud by then. Have not played on a stage infront of a live audience yet, however i expect it to perform marvelously.
Excellent pickup - arguably the best saddle pickup in the industry.

Haven't used it yet but gave it 5 stars because it's an LR Baggs. I've used Baggs products for many years and every single one has performed better than any other I've tried. Also, I have the same pickup only for nylon strings in my classical and it's perfect.
Genuinely Surprised

I bought a cheap Alvarez guitar (but still with rosewood backs/sides) and installed this pickup in about 30 minutes myself. I am literally shocked with how amazing it sounds! I also have a Taylor 814CE with the L.R. Baggs iMix in it and this sounds just as good. Having been a musician for many years, I can say with experience that this pickup will make a plain guitar sing. Totally worth the $100 purchase. I would recommend getting an active D.I. Box to go with it though, so you have more control over your EQ's. I use the LR Baggs Para Acoustic D.I. and it's an excellent pairing.
