I've used this yeast for years but it recently disappeared from the stores. I am not sure why Fleischmann's is discontinuing this product in favor of versions with additives. Glad to have a supply for now.

I bake a lot and found myself constantly looking in all the stores where I shop for the jars of yeast rather than the envelopes and very seldom finding them. I spoke to managers about ordering it, never came in, etc. By purchasing three jars through Amazon I am now set for all the baking I care to do without worrying about getting the yeast all the time. By keeping the jar in the refrigerator after opened, it lasts a good long while. I never run out the way I did when I used the envelopes. A huge help in the kitchen.
