Mine were horrible
spankyOctober 28, 2015
These tasted sour and fermented. They also appear to be small raisins. My shipment may have been roasted on the transport truck. I also bought
Bob's Red Mill, "Black Currants" While the package said, "Zante and Corinth grapes" in small writing (not Black Currants) They were special.
They tasted fantastic, like some sort of preserve, yet they were unadulterated. It would be a waste to even think about Sun-Maid, when you could
purchase the Bob's.
... that called for zante currants and I was very pleased with these
Amazon CustomerSeptember 14, 2015
I had a recipe that called for zante currants and I was very pleased with these. We have always bought Sun-Maid raisins, but for some reason our local stores don't sell the currants. I was happy to find them. They arrived quickly, were well packaged, and they are fresh, not hard or stale.
HARD TO FIND (FOR ME) KITCHEN STAPLE!
MJGJune 7, 2015
I can't find these in my local stores. I guess no one in Boise buys currants. But I have so many recipes that I use that call for them, that periodically, I'll buy these from Amazon. Sun Maid has always been my go-to brand for currants, raisins and other dried fruit and they have always been first quality. I love their inner packet, but I usually put that packet into something air-tight just to make sure they don't dry out. (I cut out the front picture and title from the box, so I know what's in the container.)

Highly recommended!
Powerhouse Plant/Herbalists' Honoree (Great with Oatmeal Breakfast too)
IvankaMay 2, 2015
I love the flavor, less sweet than raisins which are too sweet for me, Much more tastier and healthier in oatmeal breakfast than raisins.Women take it to ease PMS and menopause symptoms. It's also used as a diuretic, and to treat colds, flu, and fevers.

Zante Currents make amazing oatmeal cookies!
C. SurianoJune 14, 2014
I bought the Zante Currents because they are high in iron. I have used them with dried cherries to make awesome oatmeal cookies. I used the recipe from an old Quaker Oats with a couple changes. The recipe includes: 2 sticks butter, 1 and 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1 T vanilla, 1 and 1/2 cups flour, 1 t baking soda, 1/2 t salt, 3 cups quick oats, 1 C Zante Currents with a handful of the dried cherries cut up in them. My family loves the cookies and I feel great about the nutrition! Thanks for an awesome product! Will make awesome Christmas cookies! May you have the Peace and Joy of Christmas all year around!
