This was recommended by a fellow hybridizer who used it on multiple acres. I use it on smaller hybridizing plots and it seems to work quite well. However it does not work on such things as quack grass which I deal with separately.
I apply it in Fall and Spring, just as vegetation has gone down or before it starts. I follow the dosing directions. I also use a full mask with eye protection because the silica can cause lung injury or worse. Simply follow the instructions.
I would strongly recommend this product for general purpose use for the species as indicated and taking the precautions as stated. I also wear nitrile gloves, long trousers and shirts and wash cloting immediatly upon completion. Just watch out for the silica.

It can be safely applied overtop of numerous ornamental plants to control germinating weed seeds. It will not injure the existing ornamental plant species and will then control any germinating weed seeds. Properly used according to its label instructions it will keep all your ornamental beds weed free.
