I bought the brace after suffering from plantar fascitis for over a year. The pain was worst when I got up in the morning and hobbled into the bathroom. I had purchased a similar nighttime plantar-stretching product from an ad in the back of Runner's World, but it kept slipping off during the night, so I tried this.

The results were instantaneous. No more pain in the morning, and much less pain during the day. Even after running, the pain simply went away. The brace was comfortable, and the XL fit my size 13 foot well. So why four stars?

The problem is the Velcro tape on the straps, which are far too flimsy to hold the brace on for any length of time. If I tried to tighten the brace to get a good stretch, I would wake up with the straps flopping around and the brace hanging on loosely. I went to the sewing store, bought strong Velcro tape and sewed it onto the straps. Now I can adjust the brace to hold my foot at an acute angle, which really helps get rid of the soreness.

I should say that the brace has not cured my plantar fascitis. But it has made life a lot more pleasant, and I've been able to start running again.
A little tweak and it's almost perfect! Def. helped PF.

A friend recommended I get some sort of night splint bc that is what helped with his plantar fasciitis, after he tried a gazillion other things. So I did.

It DOES help. I wake up in the middle of the night and take it off because my toes kind of fall asleep with it on. I also had to add a strip of velcro around the middle of my foot because the middle strap wouldn't stay stuck-- if I wrapped the middle closure tight enough to keep my foot in place, the velcro closure was all the way around my foot and couldn't be used to secure the strap.

With that little tweak, though, it seems to work great. I've been using this a month and have noticed improvement. I am hoping that after a few more weeks I can start running again, but I'll bet I'll have to continue to wear this for a few hours every night.

I have only had it a week. The instructions on how to put it on were sketchy. How tight is it suppose to be? It took me a few days to figure out the best fit for me. It appears to be helping. How much, time will tell. I do not have any pain in the morning now, when I get up, though I am still dealing with Achilles Tendonitis.
Ankle arthritis problem

I was waking up every morning with "start up" pain in my ankle due to severe arthritis. My orthopod recommended a night splint ordered online. I couldn't find a place to try on any of these devices so I just had to guess which one to order.

I hate stuff on my legs and feet while I'm sleeping so I wasn't sure whether this would be tolerable. I read reviews of other styles and just took a chance on the way this one looked.

I've just had it two nights, but it's comfortable: How?

It gives room for a little side to side mobility while my foot is still held as firm as necessary.
Also my foot and leg can breathe as there are enough openings around the velcro held straps.
It has enough adjustability so it doesn't cut off circulation and it feels soft against my skin.
There are just enough straps to adjust so it will fit to your foot.

It WORKS! No "start up" pain in the morning. I'm 62 and I've had this pain for about 5 years so this is no small thing. Also, with no cartilege left in my ankle, the stretching exercises for the plantar fasciitis are not an option.

Get one of these now while the price is good.
Comfortable, and it works

I had tried a couple of different kinds of night splints before this that didn't work for me. Either they were too uncomfortable and I couldn't even stand to wear them for more than a few minutes, or they didn't hold my foot in place unless I made them so tight that circulation was cut off in my foot.

This one is very adjustable. It holds your foot in place properly even if you leave it loose enough to allow some "wiggle room" and even though the size I got is probably technically a little larger for me. It's comfortable, the material feels good against your skin, and you can somewhat hobble around in it if you need to get up to go to the bathroom or whatever.

It also allows you to adjust the angle your foot is held at, which is helpful. I haven't tried the cold pack since icing doesn't seem to really help my PF at all.

I don't think many people can wear any of these types of devices all night and still sleep well, but this one isn't bad in that respect since it stays in place well and is pretty lightweight. If you use heavy covers I suppose it might be a bit bulky under them, but that's not a problem for me.

I only wish they made it in "left and right" versions as I find it somewhat difficult to get the top "snap" in place on the outside of my left leg, especially without putting too much pressure on my left heel while balancing to do that. It would be better if that were on the inside instead of the outside of the leg.

This is helping my plantar fasciitis, since I can wear it for longer and more comfortably than others I have tried. I do sometimes wear this in the evenings for a bit while watching TV or at the computer and not just while sleeping.
