The sizing of the product was off a bit (runs large!). My measurement indicated that I should buy a size large, which was not surprising since I have always been a size large in a figure 8 ankle support. This product was too big for me. I mistakenly thought that since I ordered it using Amazon Prime, I would be able to return it with free shipping. The cost of return shipping was greater than half the cost of the product, so I decided to keep it and wear it over a thick sock. Originally I had intended to wear it during yoga practice. Maybe I can just sew it so that it fits.

Over the past 8 to 10 years I have sworn by this product as I needed the support in my ankle due to an auto accident that damaged my ankle. They have/had been a life saver. But these last two orders have been an extreme DISSAPOINTMENT!!! The quality of the ankle brace has diminished!!! After the first couple wears the brace stretched completely out of shape. There's some kind of glue overlaying the stitches in the brace. Because I needed the brace and had just spent my money I had to use my sewing machine and tighten the seam just to get the support back into it.
I had not washed the brace or done anything destructive to it, and it was the size medium that I always purchase.
Disappointed in AMES!!! Seeking another manufacturer.

I ordered this item previously and loved the fit and quality. More recently, I ordered several more and the quality is very poor. As other people have noted, it immediately puckered and stretched out so that they are now useless.
UPDATE: Just received notice from A/W that I should return items for a refund - not so easy since they were present on four different order and several have been discarded. Regardless, I think it is important that they and other potential buyers should see the problems people are presenting with this product. The two pictures shown here represent the state of the ankle supports after about two weeks of use.

I bought a few more as i have a bad ankle for life. The first one i bought wore extremely well and is in good shape. This new one, in a few weeks of wearing alternating between the old and new, is in horrible shape. Its bulging and stretching. I will need to look for a new brand. Not sure what happened. I hand wash them in downy and dry on towel. Its a shame.

I fall under some of the other reviews. I have come up with an ankle problem and need the assistance of support . Before I went to the doctor I found one similar to this and was using it. My doctor sent me to physical therapy. When I got there and was getting prepaired for my appointment my technician saw my old support that I was wearing and asked where I got it. I told her it was in my drawer of medical supplies. Part of my rehab is to wear a support . So I went looking for a replacement . I have tried 3 different ones that were made of nylon black that did not fit well a couple problems is trying to keep them from rolling while putting a sock over. The other is the elastic at the top and bottom to tight. Sizing is also and issue.
Well after doing searches checking different stores I finaly used the correct search wording and found this brand . I have had it a couple weeks works well without the other problems.
