Perfect Sidekick for the Kinesis Advantage(2) (ergonomic) Keyboard
Jeffrey C. Vandegrift•January 12, 2017
I got this to match the action of my Kinesis KB600 keyboard. In theory you can use a (Kinesis) footswitch to put the right side of the KB600 into keypad mode but I've always found myself stumbling with Human Interface mode switching and decided that I'd go with a dedicated keypad. It depends on your brain... mine is severely spatially oriented and having a separate space in which I do the arrows and page up/downs increases my productivity significantly over when I attempt to time share a single key space between control and qwerty modes. I know people who are faster than me without a keypad like this and they can switch the right hand of their main keyboard seamlessly. So consider the half as expensive Kinesis foot switch (along with reduced space requirements) but if you're like me you won't regret this keypad.

Great Keypad. The low force is noticeably better then the stock keypad provided by my office. The extra escape, tab and backspace keys are very convenient.
Not compatible with Mac
Mc•February 25, 2015
Since I didn't see this anywhere in the reviews or listing, I hope it will help someone. This model is not compatible with Mac. If you push any keys in succession, it will do a double type. If you peck at each key and wait a second or 2 in between, then it will not double type. After contacting customer service, I was informed only 2 versions work with Mac, AC-210MUSB-WHT, which is the white version and Mac compatible and the AC-800HPB-US, which is black and is the freestyle 2 keypad. The freestyle 2 does not use mechanical switches though so those are your options.
The buttons felt good and made minimal click sounds. I would still put o-ring dampeners on them though if I had kept it. I believe it has the brow cherry mx switches based on feel.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I needed a good number pad to go with my tenkeyless keyboards. I tried a few cheaper options and they were... cheap. This is a well-built mechanical keypad. Their other numeric keypad is not mechanical if you're trying to decide. Recommended.
