Let me preface by stating I am a career concert audio engineer and have had all sorts of car systems form over the top window flex to space saving. I bought a gas saver so I wanted a decent system on the cheap, but this is so much more. I listen to mostly rock and metal and this sealed system delivers so much fast tight kick in the chest, I had to back it down to keep it musical. It fit perfectly in my 03 BMW 325i and I paired it with a JBL GTX500. I can't believe how much you can get for so little now. 90% of people wanting to add bass will never need more than this box can put out.
Over two years of daily use and still great!

I've now had these for two years and they sound better than day one. Once they are nice and broke in, they can really stretch and give you a great bass sound. I didn't expect these to be able to take daily bumping for this long but they have proven themselves a quality product. I moved to a country home and the dust from the dirt road has covered them completely, but that hasn't changed how they perform. The box was very well made and anyone who has seen it and the subs think that I paid more than I did. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I have read the negative reviews and found that those few received a defective product or got a bundle and are actually complaining about the other items in the bundle, not the subs themselves. If you get a faulty product, I highly recommend returning for a new being this set is very good. Just remember to play at lower volumes for the first 10-12 hours so that they can be broke in and won't blow, just like any other sub. Also, I wouldn't recommend putting 1,200 watts into a 1,200 watts sub, that is max, not recommended. I run my 1,100 watt mono block amp a little over half power and it's perfect. Run the rms, not the max. Enjoy!!
Great little enclosure, nice little sub.

Great little woofer, sounds great.I tried this in my Tahoe and found it to not have the punch I was looking for so I got a 12" Alpine Type R in a sealed enclosure on a 500 watt rms Alpine mono amp, now there is too much bass. This enclosure on the MTX is very well made and super solid. Amy seems a little under powered as it could use another 100 watts or even more suited for a smaller car. It would be excellent in a small SUV, pick up or car. Nice sub, rubber surround and nice cone. Pretty small, think smaller, by a little, then a 5 gallon bucket on its side.
I like this package deal

I like this package deal. Note: You need to buy an amp hookup kit if you dont already have one.
Pros: Produces decent sound once set up. Hits hard enough to make my wiper blades rattle, but not obnoxious like 4 15's.
Cons: I live in Phoenix, the summers are brutal. Ill be surprised if the amp lasts through the summer.

Good Speakers with some extra info in review.

I Upgraded to these from my old setup, which was that terrible sony pentagon from 2004 and a kicker competition my brother gave me. kicker started to rattle, so i gave these a go, and they have a much cleaner sound. in a review for a different set of speakers, they spoke of clarity in subs and i was shaking my head in confusion. now i understand. they bump hard and clean. they sound good with rap, metal, and classical. rap is a given as bass is a staple, both quick and slow response is clean. with heavy metal, they bump on the double bass drum without the delay and distortion that some other speakers offer. classical is where i was the most impressed; they hit the deep strings very well and the rolling bass that just shook my sony and kicker uncontrollably sounds like it should, a very low hertz rumble.
for worry-warts like me here are the details you might be looking for.
-it is both the speakers and the box. they are pre-installed and wired. you take it out the box, you put it in your car and that's pretty much it.
-it's got solid bump, using a 1,500 watt amp.
-combined 400watt RMS. that's 200 each combined to 400.
