Great.,updated look to an old favorite

I bought this as a gift for my son as a replacement set for home since he took our regular one away to keep in his dorm. I wanted something fun and different and looked at a variety of chess sets before deciding on this one and I am so glad I did. First of all the pieces look updated and fresh versus the standard set and the board shows the letter/number borders if you discuss moves. It is nicely made, substantial and well worth the price. The feature that I love the most is that the pieces attach to the underside and fold up so that pieces are neatly stored, rather than being thrown into a flimsy box and always having a missing piece.'

My son and I play chess via sending the moves by text to one another. He is in GA and I live in TX. I bought this for his birthday present. He had a decent board with the normal Stanton pieces but I thought from his perspective he may enjoy having a board out with a game in play in his man cave. Turns out I was right. Of course, Dad is always right, right? Oh wait, that is the wife that is always right 😎 He has gotten several comments from his friends that come over about how nice the board looks and how kool it is that he plays chess with his dad in a different state.

I bought this for playing chess at the office and was very surprised by the quality. It is handmade and not every piece is going to be identical to a machine stamping out pieces. I really like that aspect. Pieces and board are wood and are of very nice size. I do not enjoy playing with a small board. Pieces have felt underneath. Two coworkers bought the same set after seeing this one.

The best set I have had so far. I love that it's big and looks expensive. The pieces move soundlessly across the board, which makes it feel even better when playing.
It's definitely unique and worth the extra 10 bucks. Before this set, I ordered a $30 one which was ugly and had an uneven board without any outer numbers/letters, which I returned. Then I bought this one instead and now I can't stop playing. I recommend this set to intermediate players who enjoy a game of chess with a quality chessboard and beautiful chess pieces.

Queens poorly done..

Everything is beautiful about this set except the Queens. The little cups are crooked, one is missing completely, and glue is dripping down them... I am a bit disappointed because otherwise it is a gorgeous set.. Is there any way to get replacement Queens?
