Works Good & thumps up to Mr Coffee's packaging!!

Wanted a cheap no frills coffee maker and this fits the bill. It has a tiny pour spout which is good, less chance of spilling when pouring a cup when it's full. I really appreciate the way Mr Coffee packages the coffee maker because I happened to be watching when the prime delivery guy got the package out of his car, he threw it a couple or three feet onto the grass between the sidewalk and the street. Lucky it didn't break. It came in the original package like you would get at the store. All's well that ends well...
It seems to work fine.

I haven't had it long, only a couple weeks now but it seems to work just fine,so far. It does what it's supposed to, no problems so far.
One of the Best Values in a Coffee Maker - And Smart Outlet Compatible!

Reread the headline. I don't say that lightly. For one single Hamilton, you get a coffee maker that does one thing very well that will likely last for years.

I originally had the programmable 8 cup version of this coffee maker that included an insulated pot, and that one finally, after ten years, died a week ago. That model does not appear to be available anymore, but I would have absolutely purchased it again save for one thing - you cannot control it with a smart outlet. Then I found this model.

Not only is this 12-cup machine exactly the same design internally, but the 12-cup pot is a nice bonus, and even better, the 8-cup insulated pot from my previous machine fits exactly! This one brews with the same consistency, uses the same filter size, and can be left switched on to provide brewing on demand via a smart outlet. Yes, I am raving about a $20 coffee maker that is less featured than the one it replaced! Again, $20. The previous one last 10 years!

Compared to the $180 Krupps machine that failed after just two years, this coffee maker is simply a bargain that you are unlikely to beat anywhere if all you want is basic brewing.

Just remember that if you are like me and insist on reusing an older 8-cup pot for your brew, don't fill the water reservoir with the 12!
some years for Mr. Coffee 12-cup are better than others, I still buy them

you may see my other posts for the coffee pot. when they finally stop working....
keep the glass container. We have a few now...and started keeping milk in them,
glass is the best. We throw the glass container in the dishwasher, take the lid off,
and you can pop that in the dishwasher also....I have not received this one yet,
but they last about a year, generally, so, what can you get for the money?
As I said in my last post, when I find the time, I may research other brands, and
may decide on another...what can you buy for $25 these days???

just received our new coffee pot, this year is the best year yet....get this one.
much improved over last year's - and last years was not bad.
As I had hoped

The only reason this is a four star coffee maker is because of the price. It's built cheap with no quality control as evidenced by all the premature breakdowns, but this is my second and it was still working when I retired it although it did have a rusted warming plate. The heating element is cheap iron and the paint even cheaper. It did slow down over the years even with periodic vinegar cleaning but the coffee was pretty much the same from the first cup to the last. The only reason I changed is because I wanted a maker with a mechanical switch instead of an electronic one so I could plug it into a smart outlet and control it with voice or programmed timer. That is the only difference from old to new. It still has the two holes in the back of the water tank so if you over fill it clean water will drip down the back onto your counter instead of coffee over flowing the carafe onto your electrical warmer plate. The drip arm still swings out of the way and automatically swings back when the lid is closed and the basket as a spring valve that closes when the carafe is removed for the impatient. If either the basket or carafe isn't seated properly, the valve won't be open and you'll have coffee everywhere but in the carafe. You'll only make that mistake once because you almost have to work at it to get it wrong. I've the old one so long I really can't remember how long I've had it so that means at least 5 years and maybe up to 10 but most likely 6 to 7. If I get 5 out of this one I'll think I got my money's worth. BTW, the smart outlet works great so I now start my coffee from bed. Now if I could just figure out the newspaper.
