I have cats. 3 cats. Technically 2 cats and 1 demon Bengal. Anyways, the demon and the long hair have ALWAYS had what I thought were ear mites. Took them all to the Vet, and I was told "Oh you just have cats that have dirty ears from excess wax production." Sigh.

It wasn't ear mites, I treated them and it didn't go away. The black gunk came back worse, and I felt horrible since they would scratch their ears so bad they were constantly red and would sometimes bleed.

I like to Sherlock Holmes research everything, so I read so many reviews, looked at too many pictures of nasty dogs and cat ears, and decided to give this a try. The instructions say to NOT clean the ears beforehand (YAY! cause ewwww) and to apply the drops every day for 7 days.

Now the hard part. Have you ever tried to put ANYTHING liquid inside of a demon cat's ears? IT IS IMPOSSIBLE without getting scratched, bit, hissed at or the demon cat screaming like a human baby being tortured! I'm surprised the authorities didn't show up it was that loud. What I tried to do was use a REALLY thick towel and wrap her in it, ha! yeah right. Then I tried an even thicker, larger comforter...nope lol.

What did work was a thing called a cat restraint bag (with a muzzle) for grooming, which I found here on Amazon. (the one with Downtown in the name). I felt bad putting her through the "torture" but after the 3rd day, she wasn't scratching her ears as much, and it was worth all the trouble of the entire PROCESS.

If you have a dog, I'm sure you stopped reading a long time ago so never mind. (jk it's probably way easier for you to put drops in your dog's ears since they are nice and sweet and listen like good boys and girls) But if you have a cat that you know is not going to like it, and is going to want to murder you if you try, get the restraint and don't feel bad.

This stuff works. They both needed a second 7-day treatment after a week wait period and whatever it was... yeast, bacteria WHATEVER it is now completely gone in both of their ears.

So buy this stuff, and thanks for listening to my story. I hope I made you laugh. :)

I had bought a cheaper brand at Pet Smart when my dog had ear mites. I used it for a long time and saw no improvement. I asked a friend who is a Vet Tech what she recommended and she emailed me a picture of this stuff. Wow, it worked right away. It cost twice what the other stuff did, but what good is it if it didn't work. Don't waste your time, get this, it works great.
Really works

This product works amazing on our three chocolate labs. One of them specifically who's had issues with her ears since she was a pup. After we use this product she stops digging at her ears and they are clean, highly recommend.

My golden pup had a singular heavily waxy ear which always was thick with dark wax and smelled. We tried a lot of watery ear juices but none really worked to help clean out the canal. However, this stuff really works. The formula is thick so make sure you read the directions and complete the dosage and routine as suggested.

I'm extremely happy with this purchase.
Holy guacamole it actually works??!!!

My 11 year old, 20-lb dog who's never gotten an ear infection came down with a very bad case recently. At first I didn't think anything of it when my mom mentioned her ear smelling bad and her shaking/scratching at her head because she's done that before plenty of times. I finally checked her ear by chance while I was putting the leash on her for a walk and noticed dark brown ear wax (a lot), along with a stinky cheese smell. After some Internet sleuthing I found out that it was most likely an yeast infection and searched for any over the counter antibiotic ear drops that I could get for dogs. I came upon Zymox, read over the ingredients, did some additional sleuthing through the comments through different platforms like Chewy, and thought I'd give it a chance before I carted her off to the vet (who she is traumatized by for her yearly check-ups as is). I followed the directions squeezing the drops several times along different parts of her ear canal and massaging the base of her ear to help it slide down. The drops are viscous and it will definitely get on the fur around the ear and other places, since she kept trying to shake her head every time I tried squeezing in the drops. However, I just wiped off the excess on the outside of her ear and left her to shake her head as much as she wanted to after I made sure her ear canals were thoroughly saturated with the drops. When I checked back the next day, I noticed less/lack of brown ear wax, less cheesy odor, and she was shaking her head less too. I'm currently on Day 3 and the ear canals aren't red and things are definitely continuing to improve. I will continue with this regimen for the full recommended 7 days and update if anything bad happens. Otherwise, very happy with the product's outcome.
