This DVD/VCR player is awesome! I bought mine about 13 years ago. My player was refurbished, but has been in it for the long haul. Unfortunately, last night it took a poop on me and quit reading DVDs. I never used it to record TV, nor have I ever tried to "copy" a movie, but it does have the option to record. You would have to check the manual to see what your options are. I really don't think you will he disappointed with the player. I am getting ready to order another one! It is definitely worth the money.
Update: The morning after- the DVD player finally read the disc! Im telling you, when I thought it was over, it's still pushing for more!! I have taken the player apart a few times this past year and sprayed air duster on the "eye" of the DVD player, to clean dust and debris. Spraying the "eye" works very well, and allowed the player to keep playing. I will try to take a picture of the audio/video later. I don't want to move the player around while it's playing a movie. It does have a coax cable connection and audio/video ports. There is also a red, yellow, white port on the front for quick hookup. This isn't "modern" and doesn't have HDMI ports and all that jazz, but if you are looking for overall great home use combo player, this is it!
