Cheap

So very very cheap. I am not even sure I would classify this as wood.
Amazing.

May have to purchase another of these. Beautiful finish, mounts to wall with ease. Sturdy. Perfect addition to our weapons room. ;)

Despite reading it's not a solid wood piece, I decided to purchase anyway. If for no other reason it'll work for now, and I'll use it as a template for when I make my own out of a nice hardwood. That being said, I found that this is pretty nice looking the way it is, nice black paint, a bit loose feeling, but once it's hanging and all my swords are on it, it won't matter. Yes there's no building instructions, but it's pretty easy, I didn't have to do any modifications. As far as the wooden dowels, just get something with a flat tip, and a hammer. Put the beveled edge of the dowel into the hole first, then start gently hammering. I did it, no splitting of the wood, no problem.
Awful

Dowels do not fit into the holes even when using a hammer. Wood has rough edges and is unfinished which looks like it will damage swords. the paint left residue on my hands after touching it. Cheap garbage
