Suitable as a practice sword especially for kids. First one the guard broke from being dropped so not amazingly durable, but sufficient for a 10 year old learning a sword.
flaw in handle keeps this from five stars

I would have given this practice broadsword five stars - it's lightweight, the right shape, attractive wood, and perfect for my purpose (practicing the form) - except that a flaw in the wood on the handle is so awkwardly located that splinters are inevitable when changing the grip. I have to figure out how to smooth it down to eliminate the danger, not easy because the flaw is angular and a whole bit might come off and make things worse. I'm considering tape, which would both smooth the grip and support the wood.
Great value for the price.

Excellent price. Handle was loose, but a quick bit of wood glue fixed that. Good beginner's sword for use in Tai Chi Sword.
Perfect to practice tai chi broad sword

This sword is fine for practice. The guard on the hilt is a bit awkward for a small hand which I have, but that is really not a fault of the sword. It is heavier than the double edge sword, but it should be. I just started using it, and so far, I don't see anything wrong with it. One definitely should use this, not a real one, for learning.
