Great cuffs. Not having to use the key to double lock makes it so much easier. Highly recommend. Best cuffs I've own in the last 10 years

I work in law enforcement and bought two of these cuffs specifically for their lever locking system that would make double the cuffs easier. I have oiled the cuffs and worked them for several minutes to get a feel for their stiffness. All four lever locks (two per cuff) are so stiff that I cannot get them to double lock with my fingers alone. They are so rigid that it hurts to push on them and fingernails will break if I try to hook the lever that way. I end up using a cuff key anyways or the edge of my key to push the lever. I assume that I have gotten defective cuffs and will return them shortly. If this was not an issue they are otherwise excellent cuffs.

Second purchase: I bought a second pair and am planning to send the first ones back. The second set works much better. I would still say that the second set is a tad stiff but certainly useable and I expect them to loosen up with more use. I realized that all the lever lock cuffs I have used from fellow officers were the nickel plated kind. These new cuffs were still a bit more stiff than those. I am hypothesizing that the melonite coating might be what is making some of the lever actions stiff. Based on how this new set works I would continue to buy this product in the future. Still, the experience just left me short of feeling that 4th star.

As a corrections officer, these handcuffs are an essential part of my job. What I like about these, is that for the double lock to engage, you don't need your handcuff key to engage it. Why is that important? Well, when dealing with a combative inmate or suspect, your handcuff key can become a "pokey stick" that can be used against you, so leaving it in your pocket is a clearly better option. The lever-lock mechanism is clearly the safer choice, and quite functional too. You still need your handcuff key to unlock the cuffs, as the lever only serves to lock them and keep them from cinching tighter.

I've only used S&W handcuffs and these are the best yet. Better finish as they are melonite and I carry open top handcuff case so the cuffs are exposed to the elements and so far so good! The new lever lock system has been nothing short of impressive to me. It's easier to lock and requires no handcuff key, also allows you to pay attention to the person your handcuffing and not pulling your handcuff key out taking attention away from your suspect as well as taking a hand off of them. Bought a pair for my brother and he likes them as well. One guy on my shift carries 2 sets and my Sergeant carries these as well, no complaints yet!

Wow I love these I am going to be a cop and have learned various techniques to arrest people so I carry them if I have to defend myself from someone I just get them on the ground put my knee on their neck and citizens arrest they are very smooth and easy to use
