childhood favorite, still excellent

The potholder deluxe loom I ordered from Harrisville is an excellent craft item. The loops are all the correct size and are cotton with beautiful bright colors I was excited to see this as I have been disappointed with the loops refill kit I bought at Joanns Fabric/craft store. The loom itself is metal, like the one I remember from childhood, and I am enjoying again making potholders as gifts - I made one during the recent SuperBowl game and gave it to the hostess. I have started my two grandaughters and they love it when we work together (we are ages 5, 7, and 71) Thank you for a good product, made in America.

Not as nice as nylon
Awesome and Extremely Cost Effective

So I have read a lot of negative reviews on this product, and I will admit that yes, not all of the loops are the most vibrant colors, and yes, not all of them fit onto the loom; but due to the quirky colors I have been able to make very rustic and aesthetic potholders that other potholder loops just won't allow you to make. As well, they are extremely more cost effective than other loops and are 100% cotton, unlike some loops that are for recreation but don't allow you to actually use the potholders that you make because they can't be exposed to heat without melting. Therefore, I have been a loyal customer for years and will continue coming back to these loops for my potholder business.

I lot of small loops, but a good price for what you get

I ordered these to make potholders with, and there are a lot of small ones that don't stretch enough to be usable for my needs. I am going try finger weaving with the smaller loops if I can get them to stretch enough on my big hands. The ones that do stretch enough are wonderful for the loop loom, but it does get tight at the end because they are thick cotton (like from sports socks). I do use just a plastic loom, so I may need to get a metal one to work with these thicker loops. Right now this is just a de-stressing thing I do for fun.
Utilitarian Loops, Attractive, but not Pretty.
Hello, It's Me✓ Verified Purchase•July 31, 2023
These are heavy loops that need to be stretched before use. There were closer to 400 in the package than 500, but still a great bargain. We ended up with about 4%-5% that couldn't be stretched to fit the loom. Might have better luck with a metal loom, as I was afraid to break the plastic loom. These loops make potholders that are more substantial, but not as "pretty" as the stretchy loops. And, since the loops are much thicker and heavier, the potholders are also much bigger from the same sized loom. They appear more "rugged" and utilitarian than the stretchy potholders from stretchy loops. There were enough to make 10 whole projects and I have enough left, that if they all can be stretched to fit the loom, will make at least one more project. I probably broke .5% trying to stretch them. Wouldn't recommend these for small children, as they are just a bit more difficult to work with because they don't stretch as much.
