Getting Mauled While Trying To Get My Cat In The Bag
Vivianne✓ Verified PurchaseApril 30, 2017
So, I got this to prevent myself from getting mauled by my cat. Unfortunately, I get mauled trying to put her in this bag. I haven't been able to use it. I have to drape a towel over her head, then another towel over her two rear paws and one front paw and do her front paws first then drape the towels over both of her front paws and one rear paw and clip her nails while holding the towels over her. I think I might buy the muzzle and see if that helps with getting her in the bag.
Velcro neck hole needs improvement

This was effective for nail trimming and ear cleaning on both my 4lb cat and my 14 lb cat. Not so much for bathing. I have one cat who loves water and one who finds bath time the most horrific time ever. She's the 14lb one. My cat fit in this though it was hard to get her in it. My cat got wet. My cat escaped through the velcro neck hole and nearly ripped my wrist open in one fell swoop. I managed to get her back in quickly with as little stress as possible, added a muzzle/face cover to calm her. Second time she barely wriggled and poof out of it again. With a better neck hole I would give it five stars.
Great idea that needs improvement.

This cat grooming bag is great with one exception. the Velcro that goes around the cat's neck to hold them in the bag easily comes undone allowing the cat to escape the bag defeating the purpose of the bag. So, even though the bag can still be used, one must devise a way to keep the cat in the bag at the same time trying open and close access areas to trim nails, etc. Perhaps a more secure buckle system could be used instead.
Great for panicky cats at the vet!

Some people believe this to be cruel for cats, but I recommend this for anyone who has a cat frightened of vet care. Ours was so frightened at the vets that she attacked. We kept her from hurting the technician by holding her and pinning her to the table, but my husband and I had to go for medical care resulting in prescriptions of oral and topical antibiotics for both of us. The vet had to give her a shot as I wrestled her to keep her from attacking anyone else. She had bitten me so badly that blood literally poured from my hands. The vet had to call the police and report an animal bite.

We bought this bag and the second visit was so much better. She couldn't attack anyone and they were able to take our cat, in the bag, to another room to give her some gas to help her relax. Much quicker and less stressful on our cat. I'm including a photo of our cat in the bag. She liked it so much she fell asleep in it. Our cat will continue to receive vet care and no one, including her, will be injured thanks to this bag. As a note, our cat had never gotten upset at the vet before. This incident and her attack was a surprise to everyone. We still put her in it when she wants it. We call it her snuggle bag and she seems to find it comforting.
Still hopeful

Maybe it's because I bought too large a bag (I have one very large cat and one a bit small) but I tried my smaller cat in it and she just totally freaked out. I'll try it again with her front paws out because her problem seemed to be that she thought she could maneuver since there was so much leg room inside. When she realized she couldn't get anywhere all hell broke loose. She's an elderly cat with health issues and hates going in the car. I was hoping this would be the answer so I wouldn't have to listen to her scream in her usual carrier for 20 minutes on the way to get her blood work done. If leaving her front paws out helps, I'll edit this but I won't be trying again any time soon because she on the fragile side. Have tried a few different homeopathic products to relax her to no avail.
