I mean I get that this thing isn't magic and you know that going in but that doesn't mean you don't still wish it will solve the problem of how freakin' hot that one room gets on hot days. It doesn't though - it DEFINITELY helps though. It helps quite a bit actually and if we keep it running all day we can usually turn it off at night for residents of previously mentioned hot room. It is kind of loud, not that it is not expected but nevertheless it's kind of loud.
Perfect for the application we needed it for!

I might have used this nifty little gadget in a slightly different way than most. My Husband and I are currently converting a cargo trailer into a camper, and we needed some kind of fan to move the air conditioning to our bathroom install. This fit the bill perfectly! It's quieter and WAY neater than installing a large cumbersome conventional fan in the corner. It does the job while still being neat and tidy. Some reviewers said that this fan was loud. I didn't think so. I went through all of the settings before we installed it to make sure everything worked and even on high I thought it was fine. Of course I'm used to using a oscillating fan in my bedroom year round. I guess if you are a person who is used to sleeping in dead silence, this may be loud. I'm pleased with this purchase!

I have two long heating runs with 6" duct. The rooms they serve had very little air movement and were often quite cold. I cut off the baffles as others suggested and those rooms are now every bit as comfortable as the rest of the house. The thermostat takes a little playing around to get set so it doesn't cycle on and off during startup ofthe heating cycle but that's not too hard and it works dependably after that.

You should note you need the adapter plate if you have anything but a 4x10 register. That adds a few bucks to the price but is easy to install. You also need to plug the unit in so, an outlet should be nearby. The cord comes out of the unit flush so this is a nice feature compared to some other units.

All in all much easier than installing an inline 6" duct fan.
Yep this is the one

Temp here in CO finally dropped. Bought this two days ago - what a big difference in the small room furthest from the forced air unit this has already made. The unit was packaged very well and arrived on time and in new condition. I took it out and hooked it up - took longer to unpack than to install. The unit does make noticeable noise but it is not over bearing and with 3 speeds it can be adjusted to a comfort level. I find med is just fine. The auto on/off is a huge feature for me and even though I found this to be a bit pricy when I bought it I find it is very well constructed, sturdy and works as advertised. Even though this was a little pricy for me I would do it again as it has solved a problem for me that I would have spent more money on ( floor heater or alike) to get the same result. Only time will tell if it holds up.
Success for an older house!

We have an older house with the master on the top floor. Normally it gets several degrees warmer up there, leading to some sweaty distress at night. This has taken care of the problem entirely, BUT it needs to be running all day at max, along with our ceiling fan. It's not a quiet unit (when we have migraines we have to turn it off completely) but it's not outrageously loud either. I would estimate that it runs at about the same decibel level as our air purifier, and louder than our humidifier. We have a large vent size so we needed to use the plate. I appreciate that fact that it's flush with the wall and the brown fits in much better with the bedroom decor so it doesn't stick out like a total eye sore. Our door does cover the vent if we aren't careful with keeping it open (tricky sometimes with three pets) and the air flow isn't strong enough to blow the door shut, but I wouldn't expect it to be. We did not take off the back grate cover like some have suggested. I am very happy with this purchase, and I think it's going to help this winter too!
