but it sucks up nothing
bubba•December 25, 2016
Do NOT buy this if you're trying to connect it to a four or five-inch central dust collection system. I used the required transitions to get it to my system at my drill press, but it sucks up nothing. I spoke to someone at the manufacturer's office and was told my particular situation would not be a problem, but it just doesn't work, and between the transition pieces and this component, I spent a good deal of money to get zero results. Hose components are also VERY DIFFICULT to connect to each other. The videos make this seem easy, but it is definitely not! Very nice flexibility in shaping the hose to how you want it, but so what, if it doesn't suck up any effective amount of air.
Great Product

I bought this to add to some existing Loc-Line I have installed at my drill press as part of my dust collection system. They sections can be a booger to snap together which I guess is necessary for them to hold the position that you bend them to. So, it's not really convenient to pop sections on and off regularly. The same goes for the end fittings. They do work really well for me as I can position the inlet right next to the drill press bit and gobble up nearly all the cuttings from even big forstner bits.
Helps me keep my workshop cleaner!

By putting the shopvac nozzle where the sawdust is being made, cleanup is much easier.
The only reason I didn't give it 5-stars is because if you use more than 2' of the hose, it has a hard time keeping the nozzle where you want it. It falls down under its own weight. Some creative jiggering gets the job done, but I wish they could make the slip-fit a little tighter - without making it impossible to assemble.
