I have two cats, one is average sized but kicks litter pretty high when she buries her business, the other is pretty large and couldn't fit in the small box I used to have. I think I read somewhere you are supposed to have a litterbox for every 1.5 cats you own - so I just got a bigger one, and this seems to fit the bill. My big cat has no problem fitting in this one, and my small cat no longer kicks sand all over the floor. I had to replace this one recently because I have a metal cat litter scoop, and after years of using it I eventually scraped a small hole into the litterbox (right in the center, where the injection molding mark is). Not the fault of this box at all - it's a very serviceable box, and I suspect if I'd been using a regular plastic scoop it would have not been an issue, so I had no problem buying a second one. If you have big kitties, this is a good box to get.

I am very disappointed. The dimensions given are measured at top of box, not at the bottom where the litter is. My measurement is 14x11x8 and they say 21x17x8 NOT! They say Giant no it isn't . The deepness is good so my one cat doesn't poop over side but my previous boxes were actually 21x16x6 and had straight up side so way more room in side for cats to move. Now they litterally have to go on edges of box. I gave my old boxes to my feral cat rescure lady who has 20 cats that couldn't adopt out. I need bigger boxes. When they say giant and give dimension you would assume it is measured on the bottom where litter is not on the top. Now i have to get new bigger boxes again. Not happy camper.
I have already bought new Petmate giant litter pans they are 25 x 18 x 10 actual size. A shame I spent the money on these that am giving them away can't return them because I had to use them for a week while I waited for the other ones. Amazon carries but DR Foster and Smith do also for a lot cheaper and free shipping

This litter box fixed the problem we were having. Our previous box (generic one. So phresh? I think. Its from PetCo) was a disaster. Even though it was the XL box, our cat really liked to push all the litter to one side and it was constantly spilling over on the floor. This has put an end to that behavior and really decreased the amount of tracking we see. I am so happy. It has a huge capacity. I attached a picture of an entire 8 lb bag of crystal litter for reference. Bonus, the blue box looks super pretty with the light blue crystals!
Love the high sides for keeping the litter in the box and not on the floor around the box.

I have digger's who love to mine the perfect hole and then use the rest of the litter in the box to cover which means a lot of litter would come out of the box. Standard height wasn't cutting it so decided to tried the Pureness High Side since it was one with the tallest sided litter boxes I could find at a great price. Gave it a day to air out as it had strong plastic smell when it arrived. I replaced one of my standard height pans with the new to see if my two would use it. Two days in and it was the only one they would use, left the short sided one alone. My male likes to perch on the side, but even having taller than normal sides didn't stop him from using. They used it so much that I ordered a second one. Right now, see a lot less litter outside the box which was the ultimate goal for my diggers!

Darn, I was hoping this one was truly "giant" for my giant cats. I compared the measurements to our current litter box, and knew that it was about an inch short on both sides, but the way this one tapers down at the bottom, it's actually smaller than I realized. I liked the idea of the high sides, as my cats enthusiastically cover their "tracks" and can't keep the litter inside the pan. So the height of this litter box was great! It was just the length and width that fell short. Unfortunately, not roomy enough for my 15 lb. boys to turn around comfortably. :-/
Otherwise, it was a nice litter box. I just think they should take the word "giant" out of the name, as we have larger litter boxes than this one. I was going to give this three stars, due to my disappointment. But then realized there's really nothing wrong with the box... just the product name. People who carefully study the measurements (including the tapered bottom) will know what they are getting.
