I do not recommend these covers my lawnmower has sucked up two of them and spit out pieces. They will not "latch" in place and the vacuum ability of the mower pulls them right off.
A very good universal valve box lid

It is a good quality, universal fit cap. It looks great and works satisfactorily. A consequence of its universal fit is that on my application there is considerable overhang; which means it pops out when anyone steps on an edge. On the other hand, it is an excellent substitute for a lid that is not readily available or is no longer made.

Our original valve covers were the plain round kind that are the same size as the hole, and they constantly were getting flipped open by the dogs or the lawnmower. After I nearly broke my ankle stepping into an uncovered valve, I started looking for an alternative cover and found this product. This is the perfect solution for my problems with missing covers: it fits different sizes, has "grabber" prongs to give it a snug fit, and is flush so the mower can go over it.
My valve was 6 inches in diameter. The photo below shows how just the "teeth" go into the hole, then it twisted all the way down and completely flush with the ground.
