Functional and Attractive

It works as intended and was reasonably priced, so I have no complaints. The sandstone color is attractive and perfectly matches the adjacent decorative rock along the foundation of my house. As for the other reviews downgrading this splash block because it is so lightweight and subject to blowing away in the wind, a simple solution is to lay a brick across the raised side edges, which weights it down and eliminates any concern with it being blown away.
Too long and too light weight

A bit long for one location as it is in the way of foot traffic. It will just have to be moved when the rainy season is over.
It does weigh in at only 1lb 2oz. I can see it easily blow away in the wind. Then there would be nothing for the water to run off on. I put a couple of rocks on it to keep it from leaving and heading off to Oz.

An excellent product to redirect water from you, not just your foundation!

I bought an EMSCO splash block in hopes of *directing water away from my SHOES when using one of my outside water faucets* "” rather than for its traditional use of keeping rainwater gutter drainage from collecting around house foundations. Now, due to how pleased I am with their sturdiness against a heavy water force, I plan to buy more of them in the near-future for their conventional use too!
Each day, I run water from one particular outdoor faucet here, but, until buying this EMSCO splash block, my shoes would always get soaked by the onslaught of water which created a miniature flood from the faucet area right down to where I was standing.
I knew I needed some kind of a "water-redirect" to stop the daily foot-soakings, so I began a thorough check of Amazon's products. One idea after another finally led me to this particular splash block, and I have been delighted that I bought it and can now work easily "” without sloshing around afterward in water-heavy shoes "” on the wild birds' hanging water source I put up for them and comfortably take care of the concrete birdbath that's too heavy to move. All it took was placing it more horizontally to the foundation but with a slight turn downward in angle to help the water flow go around me before emptying out at an area further from me.
Too, I appreciate the sturdy width of the block's short retaining walls and the evenness of its closed end. These features are very important to me since I need to fill a large stainless steel bowl with water for carrying over to clean and refill the birdbath. Before the arrival of the splash block, I had to lay the bowl on the uneven ground beneath the faucet, spilling a quarter of the water. Also, since it wasn't supported by anything underneath, it was always a struggle to pull it up off the ground. Now, the heavy bowl of water is less tilted and is much easier to grab hold of and lift.
So many products can be used for purposes not originally planned for them, and, for me, this splash block is a perfect example of that. I'm so grateful to have found EMSCO's Natural Resin Splash Block because it's made my daily providing of water to the wild birds so much easier "” and even more so for the birdbath cleaning and refilling. My favorite parts of all, of course, concern my shoes! I'm now assured of dry shoes and feet again and with no worries of future absent-minded times when I head straight inside the house and leave a trail of muddy, wet footprints across the carpet! Life is better "” daily.

Great but floats away with heavy rain.

These are good but when I have heavy rains, I notice they float away. I'm gonna have to figure out a way to keep them in place since they are pretty light. I wish they came with Stakes or something to secure them better so they don't float away.
Made well, sturdy

I didn't use the item for water drainage. I used them for height adjustment for my doggy door outside. I used them for a platform for my dogs. There wide enough and LG. for my dogs to use to stand on and then they finally come in . My outside wall is 9" thick and the variation from inside the house to the outside of the house is 7"..I put 6 ea together and put carpet on it . Looks nice
