I've been playing guitar for over 15 years...

UPDATE 01/29/2015 - I was just visiting my niece and picked this guitar up after her having it for two years now. I got plenty of backstory about her carrying this guitar with her around everywhere and banging it on everything, including dragging this thing along the pavement. Much to my surprise, it was still perfectly in tact. It had plenty of blemishes from the "care" it had been given, but that was it. In fact, it still had the original strings on it with only the high 'E' missing. I tuned it up and started playing, and, it still sounded the same. I was honestly shocked. The neck wasn't warped or anything else that would cause this guitar to not be able to tune up properly. Now, my niece still hasn't taken to really playing, but she still could with this guitar if she wanted to! And given how she handled it, I'm still very satisfied with the purchase.

I bought this hot pink guitar for my niece who is 8 and wanted a guitar badly. I think she was probably fascinated by a friend's guitar that she saw, but after she loved and played on my regular guitar for so long I decided to get her one fro Christmas. I wasn't about to buy her one of those Hannah Montana guitars or whatever, that are complete junk and only for looks (which I think her friend had). I wanted to get her something playable, that could hold tuning, but I didn't want to spend a ton of money on something she might get bored of after a few days (or not take care of) either.

This fit the bill perfectly. I got it for $40 and that's a fantastic price. It's just slightly smaller than a regular sized guitar which is great. It's not huge, but you don't want something too small either. If it's too small the child won't learn it or grow into it, and it can't hold a proper tune. This is a perfect size in my opinion. It's pink, has a great design, and was very well packaged.

I tuned it up and jammed on it to see how it sounded. It held tune, I was playing away, even soloing, and it sounded good. For those of you talking about learning guitar and you're older, go and spend at least $100 to $150. This guitar didn't sound great, but for the price it's awesome. And for an 8 year old who may never play it it's perfect. Not only is the color and design attractive to her, but it's very much playable and a good guitar to learn on. It also doesn't use string pegs which makes changing the strings a breeze. If you've got a young one interested in playing I highly recommend this. And if you can't afford lessons but have internet, Youtube has TONS of videos to teach guitar... I only wish they had that when I was a kid.
Cute and nice quality

I will add a pic so you can see what I ended up with, Totally better then this picture .. I play the guitar lightly .. and my daughter wanted a guitar for her 13th Birthday .. I ordered this at the great price, and figured I would get something a lil less of a price, and in pink .. to her liking and if she doesn't use it, I won't be so disappointed that she didn't take advantage of another gift she wanted and never used .. I have a fender and comparably I would have taken this as my first guitar .. Maybe the wood is a lil cheaper .. but the body looks pretty mint. Strings are nice and pre-tuned .. I have to say the makeup of the whole guitar is really nicely made. THIS IS NOT CHILD SIZED .. It may be a bit smaller then my fender .. If you are looking at it buy it ..

Not sure if you can see in the pic (the plastic is positioned correctly, in the pic it appears the plastic is over overlapping the body design, it isn't) .. but there is a beatiful hennah like design that is tribal with a beautiful hummingbird in the upper right, inner curve toward the middle ..

I am in love with it .. I may buy another for myself .. I say for a petite female/male .. or beginner this is awesome .. Only beginner, because maybe it is a hair smaller, making it easier to handle ..

Good product .. buy!!

I was Pleased with this guitar. I have a 9 year old niece that watches me play guitar and wanted to learn. This guitar will provide your child with a workable starter guitar. I have bought several small guitar like this in the past for 2 for my nephew Maestro mini V and first act acoustic, and even going back to my first guitar, which was a small Lauren acoustic. This one is most complete instrument I have tried. The sound that this instrument produces will surprise you. It is obviously a bit higher pitched than a full size guitar. It has what I would call a great tenor sounding tone. The guitar is not made with the greatest wood obviously, but is durable enough to withstand being kicked around a bit. My niece has had this for almost a year now and everything still works. the neck hasn't bowed and the bridge is still secure. The only negative I could identify for a guitar in this price range would be the tuners. I find myself having to adjust the tuning a bit more than I'd like, but I have seen worse on much more expensive guitars. If you have a child wanting to learn guitar definitely give this a shot before your spend your money on an authentic example.
Perfect for beginners or a cheap campfire guitar

I've had this guitar for nearly two months now. I bought it as a cheap starter guitar that I could learn on, and when I feel I'm good enough, I'll upgrade to something more expensive. I'm pretty impressed with this instrument. It looks much better in person than it does in the images on Amazon. After the first week of playing and breaking in the strings that came on it I found myself rarely having to tune it. I take it with me everywhere I go so that I can practice whenever I have a spare moment, and it still looks brand new and sounds great.

There is a little buzzing when playing notes on some of the lower frets, but nothing really noticeable to anyone but me, which could also just be poor strumming technique on my part since it isn't always there.

The strings that come on it seem kind of heavy when playing certain bar chords, which I'm still not sure is the strings or poor technique on my part. I plan on restringing it this weekend with some Elixir light phosphor bronze strings to see if I can hear or feel a difference (it doesn't need to be re-stringed, I just want to try out a lighter string).

I'm very happy with this guitar and my younger brother has been looking for a starter guitar and was considering a more expensive one before playing this one and seeing it was much better than the other $50 guitars we've come across.
