We've had this mattress protector for years but it never saw any action, until today. We came back home from being gonna a few hours, and soon realized that our dog had unloaded her bladder on our bed. It soaked through 4 layers, one being a down comforter, until it reached this mattress protector. It 100% did its job. Our memory foam mattress was completely dry and we are extremely satisfied with this purchase.

I've had this mattress protector for two years now, and I love it! Honestly I don't wash it even half as often as I wash the sheets, so that has probably saved it some abuse, but it still functions like the day I bought it. I've never read the care instructions but this mattress protector isn't fussy; I always put it in a regular load of linens to wash and then dry in the dryer on low (I'm concerned that high heat would crack the waterproof coating).
The tipping point for me to write a review is that our dog peed on our bed for the first time yesterday and we didn't discover it for probably about an hour, but the mattress was bone dry and clean even though there was only a fitted sheet and this two year old protector in between. Love it, and I love that it's made in the USA! The only slight downside is whatever the fibrous, soft top portion of the liner is made out of, it tends to trap stains that aren't easy to remove. No biggie, though, since this is always hidden under a fitted sheet anyway.
