The smell of this item made me feel ill so I can only recommend it for a very well ventilated room and/or with an air purifier or for outdoor use. It has a smell as if you were in Lowes or Home Depot. I feel a little dizzy from it. I've decided to go with a Brunton Solar Panel Controller Battery Charger - 12 V DC instead, hopefully that one doesn't emit a nauseating odor, but even if it does, at least it's cheaper than this one.

Hooked it up and it worked. Measured the input and output voltages and it looked fine. I am using it in outdoor conditions under a cowling and its been a month with no problems.
