Works great, for 1 lb cylinders or hi-pressure feed hoses, but not for low-pressure lines.

Works perfectly, puts out a lot of heat and warms our 17' camper quickly. Lightweight, well-made, easy to attach a propane cylinder, and very easy to light. And the pilot knob only has to be held down for about a second before the flame stays put.
This unit will not operate on a low-pressure supply line that has already been regulated. However, I was able to remove the back of the unit and install a copper feed line that bypasses the built-in regulator and will allow me to use it off the main camper gas line.

Cold in Cleveland

It gets extremely cold here in Cleveland, Ohio. I am an outdoorsman. I love sitting on my front porch yet the winters make this next to impossible. On a 30 degree day I am able to sit on my porch with the Mr Heater buddy on low and it nearly sweats me out. I have had to move it further away from me at times. I am about to venture off on a crossroads journey in a conversion van. I originally saw this unit in almost every single van dwelling video I've watched. I also purchased the adapter kit so I could use a larger tank. It took me a few minutes on how to hook it up but past that it's been amazing. I must warn you before lighting the pilot light make sure you have a longer lighter. If not you will need to temporarily remove the front grill until the pilot is lit. Make sure you reattach the grill before turning the heat up, even to low. The grill gets really hot very quickly. I tested the shutoff feature and it works flawlessly. I would recommend this product to anyone. It's not cold anymore in Cleveland on my front porch.
Great portable propane heater

Exactly what we were looking for. Easy to use, variable output portable propane heater. Using it as a cold-weather tent heater and it's perfect.
The size is easy to transport. It can be used with small propane canisters, or with the addition of a connector hose, can be used with large propane tanks. Very happy with this product.

Maybe they used to be better, but now they're pretty crappy.

This is my second one of these. The first one caught on fire where are the propane bottle screws in while I was camped at the Grand Canyon. Thankfully I was able to get it outside of the RV before anything else caught on fire and hit it with the fire extinguisher. I didn't want another one, but sometimes when it's cold you need a propane heater and the built-in one uses too much electricity for the fan plus it's just too darn noisy. So many people swear by this heater that I thought maybe I had a dud and I went for another one. But no, here I am in freezing temperatures near Zion national Park and the heater does not want to light. With a brand-new full propane cylinder. However, I have learned my lesson and after three attempts I'm not trying anymore. Because I'm tired of going through fire extinguishers. I'm tossing this piece of crap tomorrow and simply moving to warmer temperatures. It's just not worth the risk.
Great Heater

It was nice having this heater during my last hunt. It warmed the tent nicely each morning. This allowed me to get dressed in a warm tent without feeling rushed to beat the cold. I ran it off a 20lb propane tank outside the tent and found that I didn't need to run it long to warm the tent.
