These step drills are well made and come in a nice aluminum storage case. I used one of the step drill to enlarge holes in a piece of 15 gauge galvanized angle that I use to hold my screwdrivers. The step bit bored through this metal very quickly with absolutely no problems. The bored hole was perfectly round with only slight burrs on the outlet side of the hole (expected). I would recommend.
Works well. Use oil for drilling thicker

I've had good success with them so far. I used to use step bits a lot when working with the electricians in college. Typically for drilling into electrical panels for conduit connections. My use today is a little different. I was making small crafts with aluminum channel. Using cutting oil with them for that purpose is very important and makes them work well. I know most metal guys know this, but important reminder in general.
Fine if you need to drill just a couple holes

I was using WD40 as a lubricant and making sure was not being to aggressive, with the intentions of prolonging the life of this step bit. After a handful of holes drill the #2 and #3 step were already worn out and would barley cut. :( RETURNED!

I have not used these a lot, but they have worked great so far. I am not into real heavy drilling or stainless steel, but they have worked well on the mild steel I work with. Love the case they came with.

This step drill set is great. The bits appear to be made of good quality. They come in a nice little hard case. Only problem I found is that the foam that is used to set them in melted onto the bits but I don't think it will be a big problem.
