Lots of power but full of hot air.

I purchased 2 Ecoplus 1300 GPH for my DWC system. I thought it was a great pump. Loud and they get real hot, but lots of air. If you don't mind the noise and if hot air is what you need it seems to do the job well. After three weeks one started to get louder and louder. Not just the normal pulsing sound of the pump or the vibration of the floor(even with a 6 inch foam pad)but also a metal grinding sound. I asked for a replacement and one was sent very fast. I was happy with their quick response. Hate having issues with returns. So I hook it up and it sounds louder then the one I'm sending back. I sent a message to get it replaced but they won't. I was issued a refund. Now the only one I have left is making a similar sound. I have asked for a complete refund. This may just be an personal aversion to noise. I would give more stars but customer service is cold and the product is annoying. The biggest negative is I wanted more oxygen for my plants but this heats the air up so much the water is too warm to absorb much. I have spent the last 4 weeks using the hillbilly way (frozen water bottles) of keeping the water under 70 degrees. It's a losing battle and it's still winter here. What would it be like when the summer temps come?
No more "Bog of eternal stench"

It has been running outside for several months now under a tote by my duck pond, I use it to keep the pond aerated to avoid anaerobic bacteria by running it into a pvc uptube like an aquarium filter.I cut a big hole just under where the air hose goes into a 1/4" fitting in the side of 2" pvc pipe and glued it into a cap screwed to a base. Water pump is out of the question in a nasty duck pond as it will be plugged regardless of filter type. It really puts out the air which moves a lot of water up from the muck. The difference in the water quality is major, it no longer has the gawdawful stench you cannot get off of you for days. Having an appliance these days, that can be rebuilt, is refreshing.
Quit after 5 months

Up graded from a smaller one that was noisy and hot enough to cook on . This one was the same. I FIXED THE SMALL ONE. I used Teflon snow shovel spray . Spray into air intake. Noise dropped immediately to low level. Noise almost gone. No ill effects seen in fish or oil on water . Unfortunately it is 13 months from date of purchase so no warranty . I'll try to take it apart and see if there is anything I can fix . 16 sponge filters on smaller one. A couple are slow but performance of smaller pump better after Teflon . Really pissed the big one broke but it was 200 watts.
Way too loud and too hot.

I bought this for a DWC hydroponics setup. The pump really moves a lot of air, but this is absolutely NOT the pump for you if you want things to be discrete and not heard. You could hear this thing from outside my house and it got really hot to the touch. Took temp readings on the pump and it was at 110 degrees F. It wasn't just a fluke because I purchased 2 of these and both were exactly the same regarding heat and noise. If this is going somewhere that it doesn't matter how loud it is or if it gets hot, this might work for you.
It's not that loud if you don't run It Wide Open.

The pump is a little weaker than I thought it would be but it is still acceptable. I'm using it indoors and I noticed that it did get a tiny bit hot. I decided to connect a wall wart to a CPU fan and place it next to the unit. It works marvelously and stays cool to the touch. If you're planning on using this outdoors and any sunlight Shines on it I guarantee you it will eventually fry. If you do not let the unit run wide open and cut back the valves a little and give it some back pressure so to speak it will quiet down a lot. I also used a piece of tubing approximately 8 inches long on the intake and diverting it in another Direction help quiet it down as well. The last thing I would like to mention is the valves are extremely accurate I love them.
