Excellent Accuracy

This was purchased as a gift for my son for Christmas. I was honestly a bit worried at first because he is twelve and all of the other reviews were for six to eight year olds. I was afraid that this BB gun was going to be more like a toy than a BB gun.
Do not worry at all when you purchase this BB gun, especially about age. My son loves this gun, and even his father and uncle are both impressed with the accuracy! They both have went out and bought different BB guns with scopes to go out and shoot targets with my son, and they still like his better. This comes with everything you need, BB's, targets, goggles and is very easy to use. We will more than likely be purchasing a few more of these!

I got this for my 5 year old son after he watch A Christmas Story and told EVERYONE (even Santa himself) that all he wanted for Christmas was a Red Ryder BB Gun. He was ecstatic. He has so much fun shooting the targets and we even make up our own targets with cans or water balloons. I feel completely comfortable with him using it as the first thing I taught him was the safety stays on no matter what unless he's about to shoot. His aim is terrible though (no surprise) so we also got some bundles of hay to make a wall to catch any strays. Totally worth it!

Still haven't used it yet with my Grandson, but I think he will like it. I shot some BB's through it,and had a problem with cocking it. At one point it got 'stuck'.....cocked, but trigger not 'armed.' I kept messing with it until I was able to fire. WARNING! Like any firearm, NEVER assume that all BB's have been fired. ALWAYS point down range.

I bought this for my (responsible) 8 year old son, and we have both been having a blast with it in the back yard! At first, we couldn't get it to operate properly. I thought I heard 7 clicks on the cocking lever, but it wouldn't fire. I even had my well-versed ex-military neighbor take a look at it to no avail. I was planning on sending it back for a replacement thinking it was faulty, but the next morning, I cranked the cocking lever once more, and sure enough, I heard the final click. It has now fed and fired every time without fail. Not only is this my son's first bb gun, but it's my first one as well. It's a lot of fun to use and will teach my son proper habits for gun safety and handling long guns as he grows. I love that they included safety glasses in this kit, although they do make a sunny day seem even brighter, and the targets they give you are quite small. We use much larger archery targets attached to bales of hay for target practice, which works great! I would highly recommend this product!

Love it! We bought it for our son on his fifth birthday. It only requires one pump and is accurate at 20 feet (we haven't tried farther). He can hold the gun although the stock does need to rest on top of his shoulder. It feels solid, it not too heavy and looks great, just like the original. I have a Winchester 4x32 dual ammo and at 20 feet the accuracy is the same although mine packs more punch, but the Ryder is still a blast to shoot and more fun for the kids with one pump action.
