Poorly made and seller won't make right

I actually like the design of the product but the handle on it broke after two months of use and the seller responded that they couldn't do anything about it as the warranty is only for 30 days. To add more to the story, this is the second one that had the same thing happen! We bought one about a year ago and the same thing happened. I wrote to them and no response. because we liked the design we ordered another figuring the first one was a manufacturing flaw. Now that the second one broke and we received such a poor response from the seller we don't recommend this product OR this seller. Two of these broke after 2 months use - inferior product!
Seller refuses to make it right. They should last longer than 2 months!
Great smaller French Press with one big flaw

GOOD: Nice color, nice build quality. It does its job well and holds a good, hot brew for long periods.

FLAW: I don't like that when taking the top off to clean it's near-impossible to put back it into the casing without damaging a component. There is no room between the inner wall and the strainer which is to be expected, however they made this part out of plastic. The little plastic fins are far too fragile to last, I expect one or more to break off in the near-future rendering this useless as a french press.
Love this little French Press

I first used this press at 3-Abby Green in Bath, England and was impressed enough to hunt it down in the US. I have tried various grinds for the press, but have gone back to my very fine, expreso, grind. While some of the fines escape into my coffee mug, it's worth it for the flavor it produces. The grinds do expand and hold a lot of water, I fill my 10 ounce mug to the top -once. The press keeps my coffee hot, does a great job of getting the grinds to the bottom and is easy to clean. I did contact the main office to verify this was the press I used in the UK. Their customer service was prompt and friendly. Yes, I would buy another one.
Love it! I have the 48oz.

I LOVE this press! I had a small glass french press for everyday. It never made enough nor kept it warm long enough. Plus icky floaters. Nobody likes those. So I was intrigued by this press with the extra screen in the spout to catch floaters and the promise to keep it hot. I rationalized that this would be an excellent camping addition if nothing else. But I'm happy to say it srays in my kitchen and will be going anywhere I travel as well! I made a full 48 oz pot the first day, didn't pre warm it with hot water. Finished the pot two hours later and coffee was nice and hot still. Regarding those saying "gets clogged" "doesn't pour well" I think they must not be getting there coffee ground for pressing which is a MUCH coarser texture. For those who said "it's noisy" I don't hear a thing. The press components seem very sturdy I don't think they are likely to break anytime soon. I had no problem fitting the press into the carafe portion like some said. Plus it's quite nice to look at. A friend who owns her own coffee farm and coffee shop told me to only rinse it out with water when I'm done. This preserves the oils of the coffee (where all the flavor is). If I really felt the need to "clean" it I should use some natural, diluted vinegar. Incidentally did you know decaf coffee has had nearly all the oils chemically removed? It's a shame because I would drink coffee all day but can't bring myself to drink decaf.
Great for Camping and Home Use

I have purchased two of these presses. The first I am very pleased with and have owned/used it for several years. I have it in my camper and it makes a great pot of coffee - much better than a percolator coffee maker. Plus the vacuum insulation keeps the coffee hot for quite a while. The construction is top-notch - nice to the touch, easy to use, easy to clean. That said, the second unit I purchased as a gift for my folks. They are still very happy with it, but it doesn't seem to insulate as well as the first. Immediately after filling with hot water and brewing coffee, I noticed a significant amount of heat being transferred to the outer shell. Also, it doesn't seem to retain the temperature as well as my pot, leading me to suspect that it may have lost the vacuum. I have always washed my pot by hand - generally just flushing the screen and interior, and I have no idea of whether my folks washed it in the dishwasher, although I suspect that they may have, and that may have caused it to lose vacuum.

That said, this unit is still WAY better than the glass/borosilicate presses available. Unless you're just brewing a single cup of coffee this is going to keep the remaining coffee warmer, for a longer time than a glass carafe. Also, you don't have to worry about breakage during travel or if you drop it.
