So I am sure there are more functional and higher quality French presses out there compared to this one. I was hesitant to purchase based on pics from other reviews sharing rusty and damaged handles. Mine arrived in great condition. I bought this press based on the elegant shape and handle. I gave it a test run without coffee grounds just hot boiling water, and it did not leak. The press is a bit noisy when you pull the press out and push down. Not terribly loud. I don't plan on using it every day. I am so happy with it I love how fancy it looks and the price is reasonable. If you want this for an antique fancy press on your counter and an occasional presentation for Sunday morning breakfast this press is it!

This is a great 1 liter (32 Oz US.) french press coffee maker. Modern styling, stainless steel, insulated. It makes 4 large 8 oz cups of coffee in about 6 minutes. The insulated pot keeps coffee warm for about 30 minutes. If you let the coffee steep longer it gets stronger. Bravo.
