I purchased and tested this cord 5 minutes after receiving it from the UPS guy. I can positively attest that each 5-20R is on a separate leg (120v prong) off the 240V side so just make sure you evenly spread the load across the two separate plugs and the load against your generator should be spread properly too! 240V 4-prongs side has 1 ground (G), 1 neutral (W), 2 remaining prongs are the hot 120V feeds (X & Y). Technically one L5-20R plug is G + W + X, the other L5-20R is G + W + Y.
