I bought a new Schwinn bike, which came with a pretty decent saddle/seat, but like others who have provided reviews, I don't have a lot of personal padding for the traditional saddles that come with most bikes. The original seat was well padded, but simply didn't provide enough square inches of surface area to distribute the weight in a comfortable manner. I tried a gel seat cover for the original Schwinn seat, waste of money, took it back to the store. It was padded but made no difference in the comfort as the problem was not with the seat padding but with the sheer surface area. Found this one which was much larger than most. My biggest concern was that it might look goofy. It doesn't, and it spreads out the weight better than anything else I think I could have found, and the padding does not bottom out, at least not under my 170 lb weight. Works quite well, I am very pleased.

WARNING... bought two of these could not use one. Saddle rails are too wide, would not fit my seat post (Track Seat Tube). The saddle does come with a seat clamp that does fit a standard seat post, one that the clamp is not part of the post (Clamp Ring Seat Tube). So you are okay if you can use the clamp that comes with the seat. Does not fit my seat tube with track clamp built-in, included seat clamp is not an option.

I went to the bike store and they convinced me not to buy a wide gel seat. They told me it would chafe and that the gel wasn't necessary. They were wrong. The seat they recommended was very uncomfortable, perhaps good for a serious road biker, but for me, using this to commute 30 minutes to work each day with a backpack on, I wanted something comfortable. This seat is really amazing, super comfy. I'm pretty skinny and don't have much padding in the butt area, and perhaps that's why the other seats are so uncomfortable. I highly recommend.

I bought a Schwinn bike which while easy to put together, beautiful and cheap had the hardest most ridiculously uncomfortable bike seat in the history of the universe. I seriously could not say enough negative things about that fabric covered, sharp-edged, narrow concrete brick masquerading as a seat that my bike was shipped with. I made it to the end of my driveway then immediately put the bike in the garage until I found a new seat. I tried a gel pad but I was sitting on a brick, just covered in gel. I tried a bike seat from Walmart, then spent more money and got a fancy one at a bike store, I still wasnt comfortable enough to even make it out of my neighborhood. I bought this seat and it was shipped the next day with prime. I had my sister and my husband try each seat to make sure I wanst imagining how awful / hard they felt.

It comes well packaged, was easy to attach to the stem, you can adjust the angle when you install it. I've found tilting the seat down a a very slight bit made it easier to sit on for long periods of time. I've ridden about 15 mi each way a few days in a row since getting this seat and each time is a little more comfortable. I even got a kangroo bike attachment for my daughter so I could take her with me because I' can spend so much more time riding. This seat is extremely padded, good over large bumps, the cut out reduces pressure on long rides, seems durable. It is really heavy but I don't feel that added weight at all when riding my bike.I store my bike inside so Im not concerned that it isnt waterproof. Waterproof bike seats get hot / sweaty / sticky on long rides because they have no ventilation. It only rains a few days a year in California anyways.

These seats are terrific and make me want to ride my bike more. They are super heavy, but since roughly 100,000 men per year suffer impotence that has been associated with poor ergonomic bicycle seats, I think this is worth every penny. They are super comfortable. The change is dramatic. The only negative other than the weight is that the metal spring models can be crunchy/squeaky when hitting bumps.
