Exactly what I was looking for!

This is a wonderful little gizmo that is absolutely perfect for the task at hand...or rather, "at foot," since I bought this to trim my elderly mother's extremely thick toenails. It works like a charm! I no longer need fear cutting her toes with the toenail clippers. (YIKES!) I particularly appreciate the ease with which one can adjust the speed. I am far from a pro, when it comes to doing pedicures, but this little grinder made a normally unpleasant job enjoyable (well, almost, anyway)! The only thing that I would recommend getting that does not come with the item are extra (replacement) sanding belts, as it only comes with two. Also, I would advise wearing a dust mask while using the device, because it does make a lot of dust. (Fortunately, I thought to do this, before I used it on my mother's nails. If I hadn't, I would have been pretty grossed out!) This is a great piece of equipment that I expect to be using for a long, long time, as it is very well-constructed and sturdy, for something so (relatively) inexpensive. I would definitely recommend it to other home users!
Good not great

I have used a lot of drills and I am not a professional but I have been doing my own nails at home for 2 years. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
1. Quiet - got to love that
2. Very little vibration
3. Good level of speeds
4. Long plug cord
5. Easy and fast transition of bits
6. Like the cradle for the drill
Cons:
1. Reversing the drill makes a loud noise
2. It's a good drill but I think it's a bit overpriced for the quality - Good not great

NICE, COMPACT AND EASY TO USE MACHINE. THE ONLY REASON WHY FIVE STARS WAS NOT GIVEN TO THE "TURBO FILE 2 SYSTEM" IN MY REVIEW IS BECAUSE THE PICTURE ON THE ACTUAL BOX THE UNIT COMES IN AS WELL AS THE INSIDE DIRECTIONS AND ALONG WITH THE ACTUAL PICTURE ON AMAZON'S WEB SITE ALL SHOW THAT THERE IS A BLACK SWITCH ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHICH IS THE "FORWARD, ON/OFF, REVERSE" WITH THE ON/OFF BEING IN THE MIDDLE POSITION. THE UNIT RECEIVED BY ME (ALSO ORDERED A REPLACEMENT UNIT DUE TO THIS DISCREPENCY)DID NOT HAVE A BLACK COLORED SWITCH BUT HAD A GRAY COLORED SWITCH WHICH WAS ONLY FOR "FORWARD & REVERSE" AND NOT "ON/OFF". THE ON/OFF HAS TO BE CONTROLLED BY THE ROUND KNOB ON THE FRONT LEFT FACE OF THE UNIT AND THIS KNOB ALSO CONTROLS THE UNIT'S SPEED. A LITTLE HARDER TO KEEP IT AT A SET SPEED DUE TO HAVING TO FIND THE SPEED AGAIN AFTER TURNING THE KNOB TO THE OFF POSITION. THE BLACK SWITCH WHICH IS SHOWN ON THE BOX & DIRECTIONS WOULD BE EASIER TO OPERATE. THE SECOND UNIT ALSO WAS THE SAME (NO BLACK SWITCH) AND WHEN I CALLED MEDICOOL DIRECTLY THE REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED ME THAT THE UNIT WITH THE NICE BLACK SWITCH WAS AN OLDER MODEL(?) WHICH WAS NOT MADE ANYMORE BUT THEY WERE USING THE OLD MODEL'S BOXES & DIRECTIONS FOR THE NEW MODELS. REALLY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE TO ME BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS. OTHER THAN THIS ONE ISSUE I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE MEDICOOL MED2191 TURBO FILE 2 SYSTEM TO ANYONE FOR HOME OR BUSINESS USE (BUSINESS USE IS WHAT I USE THIS SYSTEM FOR).

I have had several Manicure Filing Systems over the Years. My first was a Nail Genie. Good machine. Mine is 30+ years old, but limited nail bits and the newer Nail Genie bits won't fit the old Nail Genie. My next one was a SuperNail Deluxe Hand Held. Not expensive and you get what you pay for. Plastic on the hand held broken, so I have the bits now, but no machine to insert them into. Then I bought a Red. Had multiple bits, but again, specific to the RED machine. Not very expensive and that being said, doesn't have good power. I think I bought it to use on my heels and feet to remove the cracks, etc...no enough power to do that. The Nail Genie is still working fine, but I only have 4 bits and the emery board tip works the best. I wanted more variety to get cuticles, etc. The Nail Genie currently sold, has different tips that are used, but won't fit my old Nail Genie. Good marketing strategy to get me to buy newer model. That would be a minimum of $149 and then add on extra bits. So, that led me to start investigating other machines. I almost went for the SuperNail for $140, but then remembered that little hand held SuperNail and lost confidence in the quality of the plastic. Had good reviews, but I still opted for the Medicool Turbo File 2.
This Medicool System uses 3/32 bits so that in itself gives much more versatility. I love the variable speed feature. Allows me to slow it down to get close to the edge, but not hit the cuticle. Speed it up when I need it. None of the others did that. My old Nail Genie has High and Low and maybe that is the same, but I like the control. I can slow it down and stay on that spot longer and get the results I want, without the injury to the skin area. It comes with a great DVD that shows you how to use the various bits and that was helpful to me. I really needed to know which tip to use for the manicure, pedicure, cuticles area, shaping the nail, getting the cuticles, etc.
It comes with a 2 or 3 bits, but I went to the Medicool Web site and ordered both the Manicure and Pedicure bits. They are a little pricey, but I love them.
I bought a small drill that was on sale at Christmas time...some come on sale...the drill sucked, no power, but it had 3/32 bits that came with it. I naturally saved them.. I just added them to my collection for my Dremel. Well, they have never been used, so I pulled them out and added them to my Manicure/Pedicure collection. An from the DVD from Medicool, I have some idea as to what I could use them for. At least I have the option with this Medicool system which uses the 3/32 bit size to try them out.
So, at this point in time, I love this Medicool Turbo 2 Nail Filing System. I would recommend it to a family member or friend.
Again, I like the 3/32 bits. I like the variable speed and it has good power that I've seen thus far. Small handle to you can manipulate the tool easily, especially when doing your own nails and toe nails.

This is my second order of Medicool nail file. I bought the first one 5 years ago and used it 2-3 times a week. I personally don't know what I would do without this extremely helpful little machine. I struggle with thick toenails and this machine keeps my toenails from looking like monster toes. I also had plantar warts on the bottom of my feet and during treatment I would file down the dead skin. The Medicool file helped so much with my feet and I credit it with helping eliminate the plantar warts. I really love this little machine and I think it is really worth every penny I spent on it.
