I have been wearing these gowns for over 30 yrs and love them but the last two times I've ordered them the appliqué of flowers on front neckline are so stiff they could cut you. I'm not kidding. I've washed them many times and they just get worse. They literally will hurt you if you brush against it. I think they must be using a different stiffening cloth to sew them on . I probably have bought 40 of these same gowns over the years but I will be finding me another brand as they are not cheap. I have the proof with the previous gowns and these latest to show the difference. Don't mean to badmouth but this is bad.... sorry VF.. I love this gown but you've got to do better...

I like the cut and the fabric-- very much like the ones I've ordered before, since this is probably my third gown like this. However, the edges of the detailing have been maybe heat-seared to prevent raveling and are extremely rough and scratchy. It is in the front of the gown so it doesn't rub your skin all the time but if you cross your arms or tuck them when you sleep, it is very uncomfortable. Just surprised it is so different this time and also surprised someone didn't notice that the front of the gown feels like sandpaper. :(

I've worn these nightgowns for years and was happy to see that Vanity Fair is still making this style. I ordered two of these in a 2x but could easily have gone down a size; they are VERY roomy! I didn't bother returning them because they aren't so large they fall off my shoulders and they are not something I wear in public! Still made of very nice fabric and are very cool and comfortable. I don't know as I'd say they run large, though; I just ordered a size larger than I needed. The two I have been wearing (for years) have no tags in them anymore so I have no idea what size they are; I just guessed at what I should order this time based on the size top I wear. Next time I'll know to size down. (Although considering how these wear, that might be awhile!)

I ordered a 2X and probably should have gotten a 1X- fits fine but armholes are a bit big and a little lower than if like on the breast- all fixable by taking the shoulder up an inch and that is easy peasy to do. I am a short woman so this may be why I need a tiny alteration done. Love the fabric- not see through at all and light weight so great for travel when trying to keep the weight down- also can be rolled and comes out wrinkle free. Like the black color- has just a hint of sexiness without embarrassing a 60 year old.

The border in the front of the sleepwear is so badly sewung and so itchy, so poorly done. I have used this shirt for so many years because of its softness since my skin is very sensitive. After washing the two pieces I ordered, I wore it to sleep last night and had it on for no more than fifteen minutes and started itching everywhere, specially around my beck and bust area and if my arm touched the front, the same thing happened. Too bad I can't not returned them because they are already washed. If you have sensitive skin, please don't buy it. For me is money wasted.
