This is a very well crafted shut the box set. I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because this set goes up to 12 instead of the normal 9. I am sure it is pictured but I did not look closely enough. 12 is practically impossible and everyone has very high scores all of the time. I have played shut the box so many places, all of different "sets" and all of them have gone to 9. I did not even think to look if the numbers are different. We have played and only used the first 9 or we play with all 12 and no one shuts the box. Not a deal breaker, just wanted to point it out. It is well made and I like that it has a lid that latches so we can travel with it easily.

I wanted to love this box, but I can't. It's not bad, but it's not exactly right, either. I've been playing shut box for decades but never actually owned one. On a whim, I took a chance on buying this one.
The box is good, the hinges and latch are neat, the felt is adequate, and the numbers are fine... BUT the numbers need better spacers. They shuffle around with at least a 3/4" gap if you push them all to one side on the flip rod. NBD, but it adds to the overall craftsmanship.
Giving it a polish with some oil soap brings it to life, too.
Made in China.
