I wanted a rechargeable and serviceable fire extinguisher for my home. Did my research and chose this Amerex extinguisher. It is called a 10lb extinguisher but weighs about 18lbs and is heavy. Keep this in mind if considering for home use. Also consider placement of this extinguisher sheetrock vs. stud. You cannot attach the mounting bracket to sheetrock due to the weight of the extinguisher. The manufacturer recommends mounting a wood board at least ¾" thick that will extend 2" from all four sides of the extinguisher. Then you can attach the extinguisher bracket to the board. Otherwise you could end up with a good size hole in the wall.
