You'd think with the scrubbers inside, the Paw Plunger ...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯✓ Verified Purchase•October 5, 2017
You'd think with the scrubbers inside, the Paw Plunger would beat out Ginsey Pet Paw Cleaner, but I prefer the Ginsey. Sure, there aren't any paw scrubbers inside the Ginsey, but Ginsey's much easier to manipulate and I've found that scrubbers really aren't necessary.
The Paw Plunger is so big and bulky and unwieldy. It's hard to plunge my dogs paws up and down, either my moving the Paw Plunger or by moving my dog's paws. It works and I'll use it as long as I have it, but I'm waiting for the day it falls apart so I can go back to buy me another Ginsey.

Great for those dirty paws

I used to keep a bucket of water by our back door to wash the dog's feet so husband bought this for me. I really like the product and it doesn't seem to make our dog uncomfortable. It took a while for dog to get used to the process and I don't think he likes getting his feet wet. I quite caring about that the first time it saved me from having to carry him to the bath to wash all the mud off.
Instructions state to fill container with water up to top bristles. This is for optimum performance. We've used less water at times and have still had good results, slosh it around a bit if needed.

Does a good job- make sure you have a towel on hand!

I have a Rottweiler so I figured buying the large version of the paw plunger would be the way to go. I have carpet in my room, and my doggy sleeps in my room; so I wanted to make sure his paws were clean. The L version gets heavy when it's filled with water, but I feel like it does a good job; however I haven't had a situation where my dog's paws were overly dirty, so each time I've used this product, and throw the water down the sink, I never really see anything; maybe a few blades of grass. But, it makes me feel good knowing I have this option if his paws were to ever get very dirty. It doesn't hurt him at all. My biggest advice, however, is to keep a towel on hand as you use the product and make sure the lid is on securely.
Great product for a Siberian Husky

This is a very practical product for a Siberian Husky owner. My dog loves to play in the mud then come inside. At first he didn't like his paws being in the plunger but I found a way to let him insert his paw one at a time by stepping in as opposed to trying to clean his paws while laying down. The upright process is much easier to do with 2 people but that goes for any mode of cleaning a dog... especially a stubborn Siberian.
UPDATE: The top of my medium paw plunger was so tight I thought it was not removable. My original review was critical of this because for cleaning it would be nice to remove the top. I stand corrected. I went to the corporate site and watched their video which showed the top screws off. I took my plunger a second time and put so much pressure on the top in a screwing motion I thought I was going to snap off the handle... fortunately the top made a popping sound and then easily screwed off. I'm guessing there must have been some glue or gunk or something that made the top feel like it was sealed.
Screwing off the top allows the plunger to be washed and drained very easily. The bristles inside can be removed btw. They are inserted in bunches in symmetrical rows. They snap in and out if you want to use less bristles or remove entirely.
Great product... wish I thought of it :)

I was skeptical. I have a 50lbs aussie (Maverick) and I bought the medium size. We live in an apartment next to the Champ de Mars in Paris, and that is where I take my dog, at least 3 times a day. During the winter, it is so hella muddy. I always thoroughly wipe his paws before we go back inside, and sometimes I have to stick him in the shower. Still, there was always a ton of dirt in my apartment because of dried mud in the pads of his paws. Since getting this, my apartment has been infinitely cleaner. I give him a treat after plunging each paw, so he happily waits at the front door for his plunging session. After the last walk of the day, I rinse and replace the water in the plunger. I bought a great microfiber towel to go along with this, because there is a lot of water left on the paw after dunking it in. I can't imagine using this without one. I also fill it up with more water than it recommends, I don't know why, I just do. If I dunk his paw as far as it can go, I can typically clean a few inches past the first joint.
