Excellent hat for the money.

Excellent hat for the money. I have a few more fedoras (2 Stetsons and 3 Baileys) and of course you can tell them apart by felt quality. This hat is made of somewhat thinner felt. But the tailoring is immaculate. The teardrop crown is shaped perfectly. The snap of the brim could be a little bit more pronounced. But it can always be fixed with steam from my tea kettle. It probably won't last for as long as $ 160 Stetson or $ 80 Bailey. But for $ 28 it's worth every penny and more. For now, it's my favorite.

He ended up getting three hats this year (we all know to just get him what he likes!) and he secretly told me that he liked mine the best! :) He has a giant melon, so size is always a concern, but this one came in XL and it fit him perfectly. Great price point, and an awesome gift!

Nice hat with unbeatable price--but it's not Dorfman--it's Scala--which matters not to me.

I am amending my original review because in retrospect, I gotta say I love this hat. The way the back "upswings" and the front easily "downswings" is EXACTLY what I want in my hats! This one was PERFECT. But you NEED to know it did come with the brand "Scala" on it... One of their "classics". This makes no difference to me whatsoever as I already own about a half-dozen other Scala hats, but this is by FAR my favorite. Why they don't offer it in Gray is beyond me. I'd buy it in a nanosecond. Good looking hat, got a nice sort of "Bogart" touch to it, and it has worn well. Have had this one for better part of a year now, and it still looks brand new. In fact, I wanted to BUY another but in "Gray"... and in searching for it under Scala.. I couldn't find it in my orders--I had to do it the hard way and sift through about a hundred orders till I saw this one -- touted as "Dorfman" -- but no doubt about it.. it's the hat I have, and I reiterate, I love it and only wish they had more like it!

Dorfman Pacific, what else need be said? Love this fedora. It has a tag with the Dorfman Pacific Company name but also says "Scala Classico." I know Scala hats and their classico model fedora, but other than the name I am unsure if there is any real connection between the two. Nice styling, solid black color, fit is fine at 7 1/8, probably good to 7 1/4 by my estimates.Recommended.
