Not enough quality for the price.
DaddioFebruary 7, 2017
Great idea. Not sturdy enough.

Specifically, the hinges on the arms. The plastic that surrounds the little metal pins that create the hinge is NO WHERE NEAR strong enough.

If the whole hinge was metal and extended down and through the plastics that attach to the arm of the chair, then this would be an amazing product.

I bought one. The arm hinge broke. I called them and they replaced the whole arm as it was very soon after purchase. That one broke and soon after the second arm hinge broke. They wanted almost as much for a new one to replace. I just bought a new one hoping quality had been increased.

Nope. One of those arms broke a few months in. Then the other arm broke.

I love the idea and LOVED the product when it worked. For the price, just not enough quality. Do not buy.
This is an awesome idea and has worked out great

This is an awesome idea and has worked out great. I ordered two of them. Both shipped with two RIGHT arms, but the seller and manufacturer were excellent in helping me resolve that problem and shipped the corrected parts in a timely fashion. Assembly is easy, although depending on your chair style, the fit may or may not be super precise. My wife's chair is a perfect fit (a grade of 'A'), my chair's arms are a bit more problematic, so the fit is a 'B' for mine. Regardless, the form and function is great - both my wife and I are able to use our wireless keyboards and trackballs on this product flawlessly, and it keeps us from twisting our bodies in unnatural and strained positions. This has become even more important as my wife recently injured her leg and needs to keep it elevated - this product has been a life-saver for her by allowing her to scoot backwards away from her desk to elevate the leg while still being able to work with her desktop monitor.
Close, but no cigar

I like the concept here and the design is great. It feels very sturdy, and I'm sure this product is the right choice for most people. However, for me, I think if they were to have a "deluxe" version that cost twice as much, I'd rather buy that instead. As it is, I have four big complaints:
1. The arm rests are a hard plastic. So basically, I'm going from a nice, cushy, gelled arm rest to a hard plastic arm rest. It's like getting a new car and then spray painting it. If I actually rested my arm on that for any length of time, I'm sure I'd be in a lot of pain.
2. The mouse area is too small. I work on three monitors, and I have to pick up my mouse 3 or 4 times on that little surface to get from one side to another.
3. The surfaces are too smooth and your keyboard will slide off. Other reviewers remedied this by adding felt... I'd rather not have to customize. If I'm going to do that, I'd rather just buy a slab of wood to customize.
4. The design works great on most office chairs. However, I want to actually start working on a zero gravity chair, and this isn't high enough to work with that. I don't think there's anything the manufacturer could do about that, but it makes it unusable for me.
Comfortable, Adaptable, Common Sense Idea for an Ergonomic Workstation, with Lame Mousepad and Poor Long Term Reliability

UPDATE: The first part of the review (below) was written right after I bought it, about 6 months ago. Since then, the left arm has broken at the hinge. When I came on to look at the reviews and photos today, that was the FIRST photo I saw - exactly the same place broken. I did not lean on it, and was very careful with it. It was simply a part that doesn't stand up to use longer than a few months.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've just put it together and am pretty happy with it. It's a very simply product, and very adjustable. I am already typing and working it and it has allowed me to put a TV-sized monitor on an antique buffet that we couldn't sell, and turn it into a computer work station - used both for standing and sitting.

It bounces a little bit as I type and it took some playing with to get it together, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do.

My mouse (Microsoft) doesn't seem to "read" well on the mousepad. I have to place something over the top of that in order to get it to work, but I keep knocking the items off when I'm using it. Simple things like pieces of paper, et. I'll have to buy a new mousepad cover or something to use the mouse consistently.

My wife says it looks like a high chair for a grown man, and wanted to know if she could bring me some applesauce.
Close, but needs modifications

The left armrest first cracked then broke completely. I have had to superglue the left arm rest back together multiple times, but it's finally at the end of its life. It would be a good idea if they put more investment into the materials. Many other reviewers have dinged them for flimsy material and no padding on the armrest. If Mobo would modify their product based on this feedback they could have a top notch product on the market in a class of their own.

I may have to check out the DXRacer Chair Mount Ego Mouse Tray with the original Mobo tray to see if the construction is better.
