Used to make outdoor tables

Boards slid in easy and assembly was quick. We added a 2 x 12 to the top and are using it for a outdoor bar/table
Great sawhorses, take your time

Don't listen to the others who have poo-pooed this product. It really creates awesome horses and you can make them any width or height you'd like.
Just take your time. If you get some resistance while sliding your 2x4s into the moulded pieces, double check for any extra plastic in the way. Remember these are injection moulded so you're going to get little tabs of plastic here and there that may need cut off. It the way is clear, but it still won't go, use some linseed or olive oil, and gently tap with a rubber mallet.
If you try manhandling rough cut 2x4s into these they will break. Buy some quality boards.

Tried others and this one is the best

At a quick glance, it seems more expensive - except the package includes 4 brackets, screws, angle feet. So, the package lets you build two saw horses which most need. Further, the design is clever in that the saw horses will be study by design with the A Frame, and you can add a shelf or another 2x underneath for additional stability. One of the "problems" in building a saw horse is cutting the bottoms of the legs at the correct angle so the 2x sits flat for best stability. With this package, they give you four angle feet brackets so you just cuts the leg 2x square the bracket handles the angle. The also give you all the screws (!) which I didn't expect. I'm guessing they felt that the screws were part of the system and many would just use some screws they had hanging around. One key point is the main screws that hold everything together are 3" in length. So a strong cordless drive is required to drive them straight in without stopping. I think square drives screws would have been better, especially if you like using an impact drill, which I only use as a last resort since they tend to dog up the screw heads. Lastly, I have the less expensive brackets where only one bolt holds everthing together, except they wobble and not worth the few dollars saved versus these. The metal brackets are even worse. Lastly, the one page instruction sheet is pretty much useless (but if you need other than a picture, you probably shouldn't be using saw horses). A table showing the leg lengths needed for a given finish height would have been nice but not a super big deal. I rarely give five stars, as an arrogant engineer (electrical, the worse), but these guys went the extra mile.
I love " idiot proof " products

I've read reviews that talked about needing to plane the 2×4's. I used the Lowe's stud pine . It was snug but fit well. Just watch as the uprights enter each channel ( twice on each board) and tweak it just a little if needed. I used a scrap piece of 2×4 to then gently tap it in . Even though the top horizontal sticks out 1" on each side, cut both horizontals the same length. Every time I've made saw horses before, I used my miter to slightly angle the bottom of the uprights. This is not necessary. Cut them square. The feet provided compensate for both the angle of the stance and the slight lean in ( the 1" thing). For the $$$ , this rocks . I'll never build one from scratch again. It's totally idiot proof .
Good & Solid Brackets, Just Take Your Time

After reading several reviews regarding cracking and leftover flashing on some orders, I was hesitant to purchase these. Decided to go ahead and give it a shot anyway.
The flashing from the mold process was there in a few spots, but nothing that the 2x4 pieces didn't easily push through. All the hardware is there to make the sawhorses and the directions were pretty straight forward. I especially like the little plastic feet that come with the set. They keep the 2x4 ends off the ground and that is a nice touch.
All in all, the 2x4's slid into the brackets with ease and total build time for two sawhorses was about 30-45 minutes. That includes dragging out the miter saw, cutting the lumber, and screwing all the pieces into the brackets.
If there is some left over flashing, just take your time and push through it. Glad I decided to go forward with these brackets. They make for some very sturdy and solid sawhorses.
