I purchased these to help with tonsil stones. I ate one. In its defense, I didn't have any tonsil stones for several weeks afterwards. But the texture....the TEXTURE! It was like sucking on a minty lump of sand. And it lasted forever, which I guess is a good thing. So depending on how desperate your condition is, you may or may not find these worth it.
