This is the best sharpener we've ever purchased. I love to cook and sharp knives are essential. I had a previous, lower model and while it sharpened, it was not even near this one. I saw this on American Test Kitchen and it was one of the best kitchen purchases I've made.

This is by far the best knife sharpener that I have ever had - the one I replaced was bought in 1980 at a Cutlery Store in Greenville, MS and to say the least it definitely outdated - I just did not know how BAD - until I ordered this one... THANKS for making this one!!

Basically turns your knives into the equivalent of a Samurai sword. I didn't realize what a razor sharp edge this sharpener put on my knives until I had a slight incident with a knife I had just sharpened. The knife slipped out of one hand and lightly grazed my other hand. Normally this would not have caused much if any injury, but in this case the knife put a nasty gash in my thumb. Not the sharpeners fault, all mine, and I'm glad I bought it. Just be careful because the knives are a lot sharper than they may appear or feel.

It sharpens all blades very well but it has 1 flaw. When you pull a knife through and get to the end, the blade digs into the plastic. I have tried repeatedly to not do this but even with no pressure on the knife it still digs in. Now I have a big slice in the plastic under each groove where the knife runs through.
