This ladder is strong, a tad heavy, but that is because it is STRONG steel and NOT weak aluminum. It works GREAT!!! I use it against the tire and on the side of the rig.

I use this with a 2017 4Runner with an aftermarket roof basket rack that is 8 inches tall with 1 inch steel tubing.
I had to adjust it up a couple of positions (with no issues), once on the tire it fits very well. When starting to climb up it the first steps below the pivot cause the ladder to move slightly but otherwise feels sturdy (jumped up and down on it a few times). I have size 11 feet and can just manage to get two feet on one rung. The welded on steel hooks on top have padding and hug the roof basket nicely.
Arrived without any damage and in perfect condition, it weighed in at a solid 17 lbs.

Nice unit (with minor complaint)

Got this to access the Cargo rack on my lifted 16 Silverado (the Rack is on top of a Leer 122 topper, about 8 feet from the ground. The main complaint I have would be that it needed an extra hole drilled into the unit, (the lowest section has no hole, but thats where I needed to put the race. the fender flares block one step, but that's more an issue of the truck not the ladder) on the positive side, the unit is durable as anything (I had to go to a shop, my home hand tools were not able to drill out the holes required.
if I ever rebuild my rig, I will be adding this to it, day one!

Good Solution

The ladder is a bit heavy and awkward, but does the job of getting you up to load or unload a roof rack. Certainly takes up less space in your vehicle than a conventional ladder would. Glad I bought it. The ladder is a bit narrow and if you have big feet like mine, you will find it difficult to put two feet on one rung.
